Best Men's Overall Tennis Shoe: Asics Gel Resolution 9

Image of the Asics Gel Resolution 9

What we love: We're now in the ninth iteration of the Asics Gel Resolution. Over the years, this model has gained fans for its mix of durability, stability and cushioning. With the Gel Resolution 9, Asics delivers and improves upon what players love about the series. The upper is more flexible and an extended Dynawall makes these shoes even more stable. On top of all that, frequent hard court players will appreciate that these shoes have a six-month outsole guarantee.

Best Women's Overall Tennis Shoe: adidas Stella Court

What we love: Our playtesters have loved these shoes since they debuted more than five years ago under a different name. Then called the adidas Stella Barricade Boost, the shoes won us over for their all-around performance and top-notch comfort for a variety of foot types. The model was discontinued for a bit, but now it's back and called the adidas Stella Court. And judging by our customer reviews, we're not the only ones elated to see these shoes back in the adidas lineup.

Best Durability: Asics Gel Resolution 9

What we love: Nope, that's not a glitch. We picked the Gel Resolution 9 as our pick for best in class durability. There are other durable tennis shoes out there, but Asics offers a six-month durability guarantee for the outsoles, and the Gel Resolution 9s are just great all-around. Read our full reviews for the men's and women's shoes for more feedback from the TW playtesters.

Best Durability: New Balance CT Rally

Image of the women's New Balance CT Rally

What we love: The New Balance CT Rally was new to the market later in 2023. As an update to the Lav, the CT Rally is built with stability, comfort and durability in mind. We love that New Balance offers these shoes in standard and wide widths for both men and women. They are also backed with a six-month durability guarantee. Both the men and women's playtest teams praised the overall performance of these shoes, with one of the few downsides being breathability. You can read more in our men's and women's reviews.

Best Stability: adidas Barricade 13

Image of the men's adidas Barricade 13 Tennis Shoes

What we love: There are few, if any, tennis shoes with a more storied history than the adidas Barricade. Building upon the 2021 update, the Barricade 13 is designed to be lighter and faster than Barricades of yesteryear, yet still offers the stability and durability that made this franchise a player favorite. New for 2024 are geo-fit heel pods and improved soft, stretchable tongue. The upper material has also been updated. Tennis Warehouse does offer a six-month durability guarantee as well for these shoes.

Best Stability: Lacoste AG-LT23 Ultra

Image of the Lacoste AG-LT23 Ultra

What we love: Designed for the aggressive movements of pros like Daniil Medvedev (some of the men's version sport his name and signature logo), the AG-LT23 Ultras quickly won over the TW playtesters when they reviewed these shoes in 2023. The shoes blend support, stability and comfort, and we thought they looked great as well, making them an all-around option for the court. The men's review awarded these shoes an 8.8/10 for stabililty, while the women's team awarded a 9.1/10 in their review.

Best Lightweight: Miuzno Wave Exceed Tour 6

What we love: Light, fast and with a durability guarantee? It's not a common combination, but you get that plus some nice underfoot cushioning with the Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 6. We're just wrapping up our reviews of this sixth edition, which released in 2024. We loved the blend of features in the previous version and found a lot of our favorite aspects were still present in the Wave Exceed Tour 6.

Best Lightweight: Nike Vapor Pro 2

Image of the Nike Vapor Pro 2

What we love: The Nike Vapor Pro 2 has a new look compared to its predecessor. Also new is an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot for additional cushioning, yet the feel remains light and speedy. Also with this update, Nike brings two width options. We found the standard version to offer a snug medium fit, while the Vapor Pro 2 Wide offers a slightly more generous toe box for a medium-width fit.

Asics Solution Speed FF 3

What we love: The Solution Speed series is the lightest and fastest in the Asics tennis shoe lineup. We're just getting underway with our review testing, but early indications are that these shoes are just light and fast as previous versions while offering a pretty stable feel for such a lightweight model.

Best Comfort: KSwiss Hypercourt Express 2

KSwiss Hypercourt Express 2 image

What we love: The Hypercourt Express was built to be comfortable on the court, and with this second version, it feels lighter and faster. These shoes feel flexible without any break-in time and provide a cushioned ride on court. These shoes are also offered in a wide version for both men and women. Read the full review for the men's version and women's model.

Best Comfort: Nike GP Challenge 1

What we love: Nike's GP Turbo has a loyal following for its ultra cushioned feel. Those have been hard to get for a few seasons, but new for 2024 comes its replacement, the GP Challenge 1. We've started testing these, and the playtesters are enjoying the bouncy feel from the Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel. One thing to note is these shoes do run a bit short.

Best Comfort: Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour

Image of the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour

What we love: Introduced in 2023, the Wave Enforce Tour offers an impressive blend of a lightweight feel along with plenty of cushioning and stability. Whereas we find Miuzno's Wave Exceed Tour series a great fit for narrower feet, these Enforce Tours are better for medium to wide feet. We cover all the details in our men's and women's reviews.

Best Value: Prince Venom

Image of the Women's Prince Venom Black/Pink

What we love: When longtime tennis players think of Prince shoes, the T22 is likely to come to mind. New for 2023, the Prince Venom offers a lighter, speedier feel with a modern look. Both of our men's and women's playtesters founds these shoes to be quite comfortable and all-around performers at nice price point.
