The outsole is equipped with Adiwear 2.0 rubber in a split-herringbone design for maximum durability, traction, and sliding capabilities. Awesome ShoeReally have enjoyed these adidas so far. They really hug your foot. I seem to have a lot less knee pain after I play in these as well. Overall Great Shoe!
Barricade Fan but..Big fan of up to Barricade 2018. The new skewed lacing system made me hesitant and the recommendation of going 1/2 size up was right-on, still got them. Well after an hour on the court took them off and my toe nails and were purple. During hitting it felt weird as all my toes seem to scrape against the toe box. Although, the shoes retained the "cage" feel my foot felt secure the toe damage is unforgivable. Feet were sore for couple of days after: not cool
Almost a Classic BarricadeHaving worn multiple generations of Barricades, I know what to expect. This new version offered really good stability, traction, and support. A great gameday shoe. However, the durability of this shoe was not like previous Barricades, but luckily there is a 6-month durability guarantee. I wore a hole through the toe in less than 3 months, playing about 6 hours a week. Would I get this shoe again? Maybe if it is on sale and it definitely needs to come with a durability guarantee.
Great shoesI love these shoes and they are built to last! Their description says they need to be broken in and they are right about that. These are stiff shoes when brand new. I wore them a whole day walking around the office and that was enough to have them feeling and bending right for the tennis court. The lace pattern looks weird walking down the outside of your foot, but hey, it seems to do the job just fine.
Pleasantly SurprisedI have come to not expect much from the Barricade line since their decline from the heyday of the V's, but these shoes really impressed me. Comfort out of the box, the most stable feeling shoe I have worn, and excellent traction particularly if you play on worn our public hard courts like I do. I also found the ankle support to be outstanding.
Two observations: the midsole and outsole feels very minimalist. This leads to great court feel and confidence for me, but I could see people wanting more cushioning and more responsiveness. These are not particularly "springy" shoes like the Cybersonic 2's are, and definitely give you a low to the ground feel.
Second, the laces are very thin and difficult to get tension on. I will swap them out and see if that improves the experience of tying these up.
Adidas Barricade 13 WhiteI have a narrow foot, and these tennis shoes fit me well; good foot support; very comfortable.
Poor Durability - lasted ~11 weeks light useThe barricades lasted me about 11 weeks. I had them for a total of 14 weeks but I did not play for about 1 month during that time. So you think I must play every day or at least 3-4 times a week? No. I play on average 1 day per week for 3-4 hours. The toe area of the sole is through to the cloth inside and on the other shoe the tread is gone and soon will be through to the cloth as well. I am about a UTR 8, so I am not anything super special like a top college or ITF player. Those players play like every day.
I grew up on the barricades but its frustrating when 1 month in your feet still tend to burn when you take it out of the shoe and then you only get like 1.5 months of light use with the shoe broken in. This is suppose to be a durability shoe...
The positive of the shoe was that it really does support the foot well. It wraps around your foot and if you use the extra hole on the one side you get the ankle support that feels missing with just the bilateral holes. I just wish the shoe lasted longer considering it had only light use.
Barricade is niceThe sole and tread on the Barricade are very tough. Almost no signs of wear after extensive use. Good cushion and lateral support. I don't love the long, skinny laces though. When I tighten them down to lock in my ankle, over time those laces dig into the top of my foot. I personally do not get as good of an ankle lockdown with this shoe as others. I will add, my wife also plays in the adidas Barricade and she loves them. She has a very small foot, and they fit her perfectly.
Classic Shoe with ImprovementsGrowing up on hard courts and playing tournaments, the Barricade's were the only one's that would stand the beating. This version is more comfortable and a bit of a sleeker style. I'm still planning on using them for hardcourts, but expect that the clay court version is a simple derivation of this and quite good. In my brief usage of these shoes, I have liked them. The fit is true to size.
Adidas BarricadeI like to break in the shoes by walking in them for a week. They are my favorite tennis shoes. I find them comfortable but tough. I have a relatively high arch and the insole fits well.
adidas BarricadeI like the new shoe a lot more than the old style, a little bit looser in the front of the foot which makes it way more comfortable
Tried Most and Keep Coming BackI've tried on a lot of shoes and played months in others. For me, this is the best shoe for pickleball for my fairly narrow feet. During the non-ski months, I'm a 5-day/week 4-hours/day player, and these shoes hold up well.
painfully uncomfortable and deadthese were like playing in a rented bowling shoe. zero cushioning or response. gave me forefoot and knee pain and that was on clay. do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. good on tennis warehouse for taking them back.
Excellent sole durability, wrong fitThis is my second review of these Barricades. I have been wearing these Barricades for about 5 months for pickleball. I thought I had solved my fit problem with these shoes by threading the laces through the top back eyelet.
When I first wore these shoes, I immediately noticed how my heel was moving side-to-side. That's a dangerous problem when an athlete attempts to move laterally to make a play in baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, or pickleball. After I adjusted the lacing, the shoes seemed to fit better, but I have to re-tie my laces at least a half dozen times during my playing session. And then my heels began sliding again, so I'm very frustrated with the fit.
I still think Barricades are a stronger shoe compared to Nike Vapors in relation to sole durability, but if I don't fix my fit issue I am going to have to switch to another brand.
For some reason, every new edition of Barricades fit a little different??? I wore Barricades for more than ten years, and I never knew what to expect from the shoe with respect to fit. I have a narrow foot (B width), and this must be the issue??
I still recommend Barricades for tennis or pickleball players because of their quality, stability and durability....
Most Uncomfortable Shoes I've Worn in a WhileI've tried a lot of different shoes over the years (Asics Gel Resolutions 8 and 9, Nike Vapor Pro 3, Babolats several years back) and these are among the most uncomfortable shoes I've worn. They are just bearable enough to wear, and not quite as bad as Asics Gel Resolution X (which I immediately returned) but I don't plan to ever order these again.
Son loves theseThese are the only tennis shoes my son wants to wear due to comfort and performance. However, he does get holes in the soles after about 8 weeks of use. He played daily for about 3 hours though. The 6 month durability guarantee has been quite useful. I wouldn’t buy these shoes from a source that doesn’t have the guarantee.
adidas barricadeI think they change the shoe a little bit in the inside definitely more comfortable than the previous shoe. Very happy.
great pair of shoesI have really been enjoying these
6 month outsole neededThese shoes are half the price for anyone who plays more than 3 days a week and moves quickly. The 6 month guarantee is really important cause these shoes last about 3/4 the lifespan of any shoe you would spend $120 on. The great part is the tennis warehouse team is good about replacing them without a hassle. These are also very comfortable.
Good ShoeMore comfortable than my previous tennis shoes. My feet weren't as fatigued after a few hours of play.
Always strong support, unmatched durabilityThis model 13 makes the eighth pair of Barricades I've worn. I have a narrow foot, but the extra top lacing holes allow me to tighten the shoes for a snug fit. The Barricade 13 feels light, and like every pair of Barricades I've worn, they support my feet for lateral movement. I bought these Barricades for pickleball, and I have been very satisfied with the shoe's performance...
Great Shoes and service!Thank you, TW, for your prompt service in providing a top quality product.
Dependable durability and support.I have purchased at least a dozen pair of Barricades since I began playing tennis in 2003. When I began playing tennis as a serious activity, I was impressed with the sole durability of Barricades compared to competitor's tennis shoes. Barricades don't always fit my narrow B width feet, but I can usually alter the lacing to tighten the shoes properly. I also find that other brand tennis shoes offer superior cushioning to the Barricades, but since I wear orthotics in my shoes to combat weak arches cushioning isn't a priority compared to support. I'm a lifelong Nike athlete from the 70s, using Nike running, basketball, golf, and cross training products. When I tried Nike cross trainers and tennis shoes in the past, I usually wear the soles down much quicker. I have never experienced a failure in Barricades, so I highly recommend these Barricades for any pickleball or tennis players looking for strong, durable product.
Solid ShoeReally solid shoe, I have been buying these shoes for the past 2 years and haven't been any issues. It got a lot lighter since the previous models but they do last a little shorter. They usually last around 2-3 months for me (8 utr high school). I previously tried Lacoste, Nike, and head but I will definitely be sticking to these.
Tennis playerI have worn these for a few weeks and am very pleased with the comfort and support.
Another greatBarricade 13Great shopes, easy/no break in time and very cool colors.
Good comfort, good supportIt's just an above average shoe. Would definitely buy again.
Good shoeTook a bit to break in, comfortable once done. Good traction. Nice looking shoe.
Solid shoe that just didn’t fit my feet welTried on lots of different shoes inside my home and these felt the most comfortable and stable of the lot. Unfortunately, once on court I was having an issue of my toes hitting the ends of the shoes during hard movements and since there is no option of a runners knot I was unable to remedy it. Very nice shoe if you are able to get proper lockdown.
adidas purchaseFirst time ordering from Tennis Warehouse. Easy, Fast, delivery was very quick. Definitely my go to again for future needs anything tennis.
adidas Barricade 13Responsive, comfortable and durable! They get me to the ball reliably! I like them.
Great shoe, no pain all gainI have played tennis in most shoes. KSwiss, Nike, Babolat, Prince. This adidas Barricade is the only shoe that helps get rid of foot pain. It's a well built shoe I would recommend for tennis or pickleball
Tradition ContinuesThis is another success for adidas and their Barricade tennis shoes. I have played tennis for almost 15 years and the Barricades have been the shoes I go back to. They are comfortable and built strong. I feel good on the court with the support they give my ankles and feet.
adidas barricadesI’ve been wearing the new barricades for about a year now great shoe super comfortable
Battle shoeShoe is very stiff but will last forever. This set took a couple wears to break in as the ankle area was rubbing more than usual for a barricade. A thicker sock took care of the issue.
Barricade 13 Tennis shoesThese shoes are fast and comfortable. Also, they have great Achilles tendon support.
NiceLove dat shoe
adidas BarricadeSolid shoe. No issue with break-in as others have mentioned. Moderately durable. Not too slippy on hardcourts. Overall pleased and would purchase again.

Amazing productYou should definitely buy these shoes. I love the stability and comfort. An extra add-on is the color. Everyone is commenting on how cool they look. Overall, a great product for serious tennis players.

Good fit for narrow foot. Short sole lifeGood cushion and stability. Takes one to two hours to break in. Short sole life. Definitely would not buy it without the 6 month sole wear warranty. Clear 5 star except for durability

Court mobilityExcellent court mobility. Comfortable inside and holds your feet while having sudden changes of direction, sprinting and stopping. I love it.

adidas Barricade 13The shoes are well put together and are holding up well. I play pickleball three to four times a week. They just seem to hurt my knees a bit, but overall they are very durable.

AwesomeVery comfortable shoes especially for wide feet! Excellent customer service. Different from other comments, we found this shoe is true to size, we have to change back to original size without half size up, however the delivery and return is super convenient that make this experience smooth.

Finally found my best shoeThis is my first adidas tennis shoe and I am 100% satisfied with every aspect of it. I like the fit, support, looks, speed, stability and hopefully the durability. I've had the Babolat Jet Mach III and loved it for the speed, but it wasn't stable in some situations. I've had multiple Nike, including the latest Vapor Pro 2 and they never quite felt right. I've also had Fila and KSwiss and compared to all those other brands the adidas checks all the marks for me.

adidas Barricadeadidas Barricade shoes are the best shoes I have ever purchased. They are great on comfort and durability. Also they are consistent through the years.

Great shoe for wide feet!I have wide feet (2E) so finding shoes that fit can be challenging. I’ve worn/used the Barricade line since the Barricade 2’s and these are by far the most comfortable of them all. The fit is great, no break-in time, and breathable. Great traction on hard court and good arch support. My only knock would be the durability of the outsoles. After three to four months I will wear them down to the base. Thank goodness for six months warranty. For reference I play on avg three to four days a weeks around one and a half hours each session.

Longstanding favorite shoeI've been a Barricade guy for a number of years, and the 13 continues to deliver in the long tradition of supportive, substantial, yet not too heavy ideal hard court shoe. The asymmetric lacing prevents crush on the top of your foot, reducing fatigue (and compression of your dorsalis pedis artery), and optimizing comfort. Grippy sole provides super traction but still allows a sliding movement for the hard-driving athlete. Lower heel cup for a lighter airier feel too. A win all the way around. If you find a colorway you like on sale, well, you've hit an ace on match point.

Good durabilityGood durability. Lasted three-ish weeks but played like four to six hours a day. Shoe is kinda narrow and I got some blisters

Reliable Pair of ShoesI have been ordering Barricade's for years. They fit the form of my feet well and durable. I came from Nike and never gonna switch back.

Excellent performance and value! This is my first time trying a shoe that is clay court purpose built. The performance is remarkable. It provides stability and traction on demand. My only complaint is surrounding the cushioning in the upper part of the shoe around the opening. I wear short socks that don't cover my ankles. The shoe material touching my skin rubbed it raw leaving me with blood stains on the shoes and a painful experience. Make sure you wear taller socks.

adidas barricade 13Shoe fits true to size. I was nervous switching from Mizuno and Asics and the shoe is surprisingly well built. I have very flat feet and the support is very nice. The durability is noticeable in the construction of the outer sole. Looking forward to summer play in these. Would buy again

Didn’t last 1 monthI’m a tennis pro and ripped the bottom in three weeks. They usually last me three months have picture and date bought.

Least Durable Sole Ever; Bad fitmentThese shoes lasted six weeks before being eligible for a tennis warehouse’s guarantee. Seriously, for such an expensive shoe, I expect more. They also run small compared to past barricade models, which is odd to me. I had to size up, then rolled my ankle as a result.

Fits me the best! For me this is the best fitting Barricade ever. Maybe the asymmetrical lacing allows for more adjustment. I usually get a good fit with Nike but at the present time I'm having better luck with adidas.

Barricade 13Great price point for the sole you get. The uppers breathe great, but are stretchy and get dirty. Color combo works.
Great Baricade 13Just received my new pair of adidas Baricade tennis shoes, and they feel great!! I like the thicker gauge tongue, the new fabric in the upper and how much lighter the shoe is overall. The one negative to me is the shoe laces are too thin for this style of shoe. Overall very good improvement from the previous version.
They are excellentI needed them with urgency. They arrived right on time, they look great feel great and I love them to play with
My go-to shoeI've always loved barricades. Played with them before college and after college, and the only reason I didn't in college was we got free shoes on the team. Holds up better than Nike's for me. Haven't tried Asics to compare it to those. For me these are the perfect blend of durability and weight. 5.5 level play these days and D1 in college.
Size change is throwing me offI got the Barricade 13 as an outsole warranty replacement for my previous generation Barricades which were awesome. Apparently Adidas changes the sizing (WHY?!?!) of the latest generation. Instead of my usual 10.5 I ordered the recommended half size up 11. The previous generation had a perfect fit for me. Now, it's a little bit weird. I can tell that if I went back to a 10.5 the shoes might be a bit too short. There's a good chance I would hit the front of the shoes a lot with my big toes. I don't know, if the new sizing affects the feeling of the sole as well. I am definitely not getting the same light-footed feedback I got from the previous generation. Instead the sole feels a little bit clunky and hard. But it's a Barricade and it lives up to that name with a lot of stability. That's why I'm using this shoe mostly for intense footwork drills where I am constantly changing directions. In a match I'd be concerned that I'd be thrown off by the soles of my feet becoming too uncomfortable. Again, never had this issue with the previous generation. Style and quality of the used materials are great. Feet are very individual. If you're looking for stability and durability, I'd definitely recommend to give them a try.
Great fit. Terrible sole durabilityShoe fits a narrow foot well. Comfortable and stable. Probably one of the least durable soles I've seen in 20+ pairs.
Good comfort, bad durabiltyWhen I originally bought the shoes, they seemed a little stiff, but after a week, they were really comfy. On the court, they feel fantastic, but they are not very durable. A hole appeared on the soles after two months.
Don't buy this shoeAfter less than two months the bottom of both shoes had holes in them. I've never worn out a shoe this quick in my 55 years of playing.
Great fit, bad soleBought them on Feb 20th and by March 20th they had holes in the soles.
Great shoe… if it was durableGot these shoes, loved them right out the gate. Excellent comfort, these felt like slippers to me. Very good stability too, overall just a great shoe for playing in. Until one day I looked down at my shoe and I had a gaping hole in the toe. Only one month after getting them! Never in my life have I worn through a pair of shoes in a month. I noticed some similar complaints in other reviews. If the durability is addressed in these, they are the perfect shoe.
Not durable at all!I wore out these shoes in less than a month. At my 30 years of playing tennis, I've never worn out a pair of shoes in less than a month, let alone a pair of Barricades. I've owned previous versions of Barricades right from the first version and I've always worn them out in between six to nine months. If you're looking for a durable pair, even with the warranty, you're better off buying another shoe.
Barricade 13 is here!I was excited for the new barricades, as the previous version had some flaws (attached tongue, plastic feel, extra long laces). I've been searching for a good replacement since the discontinuation of the SoleCourt Boost. While these fit a bit better, and the padded tongue is a major improvement, this shoe is STIFF! I've played three times now and they still aren't broken in. I do like the mesh make-up of the forefoot of the shoe, and the overall look is cool, but the stiffness is difficult to overcome, and I am triple-knotting the laces (why soooooo long...). I'm going to keep playing them in hopes they break in more, as adidas is sure to bring this shoe out in more cool colorways.
Excellent! What I really like about the Barricade 13's is that I don't feel pressure on the side of the foot like the previous version. As far as comfort and stability, it's all there with the Barricade 13.
