Updated with a new material technology for 2026

Introducing the Speed MP 2026! Defined by comfort and controllable power, this racquet packs a 60 RA, giving it the kind of buttery feedback experienced players crave. Compared to the Speed Pro, the MP comes with a 16x19 string pattern, resulting in slightly easier spin, though it stops shy of the heavy RPMs delivered by the Extreme MP. It also features a 325+ swingweight, keeping it stable against big hitters while upping the power potential. This update brings in Hy-Bor, a new material that uses compression-resistant boron fibers in the shaft to improve stability and connection through impact. Auxetic 2 in the yoke and handle further enhances the feel and response. As with the previous generation, this model features Graphene Inside, reinforcing the frame in key areas for added power and stability. Ultimately, with some nice updates to the feel, the Speed MP continues to be a solid option for intermediate and advanced ball strikers looking for controllable power and great feel.

Awesome sticksSwitched to the 2025/6 Legend MP over Christmas break and haven’t looked back. Playing my best tennis so far with these. Everything I wanted in a frame and more. Now have 3 and will likely snag a couple more(college player). Mine are matched at 332 SW, 6 pts HL, 330.4 static with leather and minor bits of lead for matching, but they weren't far off of that to start with. I prefer these to the standard “skunk” PJ, they just feel better to me. Using Lynx Tour 17 @ 53 in them at the moment and love it! Aggressive groundstroke/all court player with bigger serve.

The Best of All WorldsI'm new to the Speed family, but I'm so happy that I finally gave the speed line a shot! I was looking for a 100sqin racquet that was forgiving and stable, and I demo'd quite a few options on the market. The Speed MP is very spin friendly and plenty powerful, but the racquet's controlled and crisp feel allowed me to be aggressive or dial it back whenever needed. Sometimes, 100sqin racquets can feel harsh and clunky, prioritizing power and stability above all else. The Speed MP sits in this magical goldilocks zone where it can do anything and everything you ask of it. The only downside is the pretty high swingweight- my sample came in at 328sw, and although that isn't particularly high on this model, the racquet can still feel pretty sluggish in the air at least when doing shadow swings. Despite this, I found that on the court I was still able to make contact well in front and I was still able to take balls early, and the slower swing speed is definitely something I could adjust to. Head knocked it out of the park with this one.

Demanding Frame That Didn’t Suit My GameI have been a Head Instinct user for the past three years, and during that time it suited my game very well. Switching to the Head Speed Legend MP turned out not to be the right decision for me. Although online reviews and even demo sessions (including advice from sources like ChatGPT) suggested it would be a good upgrade, real match play told a different story. Initially, the racquet felt good during practice, but over time I realized it demands very precise timing and can feel a bit launchy, especially under pressure. I struggled to generate the same level of easy power, my drop shots disappeared, and most importantly, I lost confidence during league matches. While I believe the Legend can be a good racquet that may help improve technique, as a recreational league player, results and confidence matter more than long-term adjustment. Unfortunately, this racquet did not deliver that for me at this stage of my game. For these reasons, I’ve decided to return it. Perhaps with further improvement it could work for me in the future, but right now it isn’t the right fit.

Best Head racquet in whileI had mostly given up on Head - I couldn't find a racquet I really liked til now. It's like all the Speed MPs which are easy to hit with spin and have just enough power. What I really like about this frame (apart from the cosmetics) is the stability and feel. It plays and feels slightly stiffer than specs, and very solid. So you get all the feedback you need. Not mushy like a Blade or or overly dampened like a Ezone.

Best RacquetThis racquet is a lot of fun. I’ve been playing with the Pure Aero 98 and there are limits with that racquet for me. But with the Head Speed MP there are no limits. Whip a spinny forehead? Yuh. Whack a flat banger? Yuh. Hit a lazer low slice? Yuh. Very easy to get pace. Ive played with the previous version. (Non legend) and I couldn’t hit any flat shots with that racquet. And didn’t feel as great as this new one feels. It’s just as easy to use. Easy depth. East spin. I’m amazed for how light this racquet is, there is plenty of stability. I have a one handed backhand and it’s perfect for it. Just go through the ball and the ball will simply go over exactly how you want it. If you like the soft thunky feeling of the Head Presitges then you’ll love this racquet. I’ve played with many, many racquets. The Wilson line, the Babolat line, the head line, the Tecnifibre line, solinco line. This Head Speed MP Legend is exactly what I’ve been looking for, for years. It’s now my final racquet of choice. Strung with head lynx tour at 48lbs my rating is 4.5
