adidas Cybersonic 2
What we love: This second edition of the Cybersonic has earned high praise from our playtesters with narrow feet for their blend of speed and comfort. These shoes have a half bootie internal sleeve to deliver a secure fit and feel, and the dual density Lightstrike midsole has a plush cushioned feel underfoot. The Cybersonic 2 is also the only option in the adidas tennis line-up with the Energy Rod that wraps around heel, helping movements on the court feel explosive.
Asics Court FF 3
What we love: Designed for Novak Djokovic, one of the most aggressive movers on the pro tour, these Court FF 3s won't hold you back on court. We also list the Court FF 3s as having a medium width fit, but the upper hugs the foot like a glove thanks to the mono-sock bootie construction. Players who are looking for a blend of stability and a speedy feel will find it here.
Babolat Jet Mach III
What we love: This latest Jet Mach III has been our playtesters' favorite version yet. They loved it for its lightweight feel, comfort and impressive durability for a speed shoe. Players who are looking for a slightly narrow-fitting option that feels fast should check out the Mach III. Be sure to check out our full review.
Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 6
What we love: Light, fast and with a durability guarantee? It's not a common combination, but you get that plus some nice underfoot cushioning with the Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 6. We're just wrapping up our reviews of this sixth edition, which released in 2024. We loved the blend of features in the previous version and found a lot of our favorite aspects were still present in the Wave Exceed Tour 6.
Yonex Ad Accel
What we love: Yonex brings its tech know-how to shoes. The Ad Accel is one of the few tennis shoe models that features a carbon plate, which provides more rebound as you react and move to your next shot. The Power Cushion+ midsole is present in these shoes, too, and delivers the comfortable ride we've come to expect from Yonex shoes. We find that both men's and women's models have a snug medium fit that is nice for slightly narrower feet. One caveat from our playtest team was that the traction on these shoes was on the sticky side, so players who like to slide might find that tougher to do in the Ad Accel.
Diadora B.Elite Star
What we love: Supple leather uppers are a rare thing these days, but if you're looking for that classic feel, check out the Diadora B.Elite Star. These shoes are made in Italy and deliver a premium look and feel with their leather uppers, protected by KPU overlays. These shoes do have a snug fit in terms of length, and some of our TW playtesters did choose to go up a half size. If you often find yourself between sizes, you might want to get a half size larger than usual.
adidas Defiant Speed 2
What we love: Released in 2024, the Defiant Speed 2 captured our playtesters' attention for its mix of lightweight on-court performance and off-court style. This shoe also gets pro player approval and is worn on tour by Alexander Zverev. With its speedy feel, comfort and with several colors available under $100, the Defiant Speed 2 is an excellent all-court option.
