ImpressiveI used to play Hyper-G. I feel like this has the similar spin, much more comfort, and cheaper. With the smaller diameter it does break but strings are meant to be replaced. I probably hit for 30 hours before I break these.
So far so good.I strung this at 48 lbs on my Yonex VCORE 97 (310) 2021. It’s a comfortable string with excellent response and a noticeable high launch angle, giving me the added kick I was looking for on my control-oriented frame. The overall balance is impressive.
However, I’m not sure how it would perform on more power-focused or spin-heavy racquets like the Pure Aero, Pure Drive, or other VCORE models. It might feel like overkill in those setups.
It’s been nearly a week hitting with it, and so far, it’s holding up well.
To much spin?I recently strung my Wilson Blade v9 98 (18x20 racquet) with this strings, strung at 54 lbs, over a period of about 15 days. My initial impression, particularly when using standard, slower balls like Penn or Wilson, was very positive – the strings performed exceptionally well.
However, during a recent UTR junior tournament using faster, bouncier Babolat balls, I encountered some challenges. With these livelier balls, I found it slightly more difficult to control power consistently and generate the usual amount of spin I prefer.
Despite this specific challenge, the strings generally held up impressively well throughout the two weeks, even with frequent play (5-6 days per week). I was particularly pleased with the tension maintenance, which remained quite good over that time. The string's textured or rough surface seemed to effectively aid spin generation, especially noticeable with the slower ball types.
Better than the originalBeen using OG O-toro since it came out and this version is just better. It actually feels a bit softer with less metallic sound on contact. So far both my wife and I have switched to this string. It is just fantastic. Lots of spin and great pop. I use it in the mains with a multi in the crosses. Definitely try this string out!
