adidas Solematch Control 2 White/Black/Or Men's Shoes
4.2
High levels of stability in a comfortable package. Fans of Boost cushioning look no further!
This second generation of the popular line from adidas, the adidas SoleMatch Control 2 ties in the look and style of the Barricade, but incorporates Boost cushioning in the midsole. This shoe is built for stability but also delivers a high level of comfort, with a generous fit in the toe-box. The Torsion System in the mid-foot helps to deliver the support and stability needed for quick changes of direction, and Boost in the midsole feels nice and plush for long hours on the court. ADITUFF+ material on the uppers improves durability and holds up strong for those players who drag on the hard courts. The outsole is equipped with Adiwear rubber and is formed into a herringbone profile for an ideal balance of traction and durability.
- Upper: Mesh upper provides a comfortable fit and support, while also improving ventilation from the previous version. Adituff+ material increases durability, and provides abrasion resistance for those players who drag.
- Midsole: Boost midsole for a plush ride. Torsion System enhances lateral stability.
- Outsole: ADIWEAR ultimate rubber compound for high wear durability. Innovative herringbone tread design for enhanced abrasion resistance in high wear areas, with medial protection built-up for drag foot when hard court sliding.
- Color: White / Black / Orange

HeavyThe shoe is heavy not as good support as the barricade 14.
Outsole is durable.
Dads Gone WildBoost has been my favorite shoe technology by adidas since it debuted in 2013, and I've been inclined to buy every tennis shoe the brand releases featuring this technology. This model was particularly special for me as I was seeking a clean-looking white tennis shoe with black outsole, so the Boost technology was a sweet bonus. The comfort out of the box was decent, the added cushioning and support was apparent right away. They felt lower to the ground than I was expecting. Anyway, I loved them for a week until my wife noticed me wearing them one day and began laughing hysterically because they look like "Dad Sneakers"... Life is simply too short for that. They have been retired.
PickleballThey work for me.
Great for pickleball! These are the most comfortable pickleball shoes for that price range, with great ankle support. They run a bit tight for people with wide feet, so a half inch up in size is recommended. I'm on my 4th pair of this exact model and it's my favorite after trying 5 other models the past 2 years.
Performance, Quality and ComfortWell made able that performs well on court. There's a good amount of support, and the cushioned ride is super comfortable. I've had a couple pair of these and think they're great.
Great shoeThey were a little tight at first, completely broke in by week 2 and feel perfect. Great grip and padding. All that was needed were some good insoles.
Really good shoesBeen wearing this version 2 for about 4 months and it's my favorite curent shoe, though I think not quite as good as the first Solematch. The cushioning and support for me is just right - feels a little bit less than the original Solematch, but maybe a tad more side-to-side stability. At first I didn't care for the asymmetrical lacing, but now I'm a fan. Does fit true to size on length and width. Enough room and volume to open up the laces when I'm wearing ankle wrap/braces without feeling like it's pinching across the top of my foot. Glad adidas keeps the lace-lock eyelets. My main criticism is the sole durability around the toe. Just wears out fast.
Plush ride, soft upperI have been wearing Ubersonic v2 and v4 for several years, and decided to try the Solematch Control 2 in lieu of the Ubersonic v5. I like the plush, comfortable ride of the Solematch Control 2, but the upper feels softer/looser than my historical Ubersonic shoes. I find that I need to continually tighten the shoes through the course of a playing session to get a more locked in feeling. I'll keep wearing this pair to see how they settle out, but I am concerned that I'm going to have the lace eyelets practically touching to get the type of fit that I am accustomed to.
Great qualityMy 12 years old son loves his new pair pickleball shoes and using them a lit at the courts:-)
Tennis ShoesMy son will only wear these shoes! We get about three months out of them and they are really comfortable and durable!
