Great ShoeVery happy with this shoe. Would definitely recommend.
Adidas Barricade 13 WhiteI have a narrow foot, and these tennis shoes fit me well; good foot support; very comfortable.
Barricade - the look of Stan Smithgreat feel and the look of the old Stan Smith tennis shoes in Barricade shoes. Love these.
Poor Durability - lasted ~11 weeks light useThe barricades lasted me about 11 weeks. I had them for a total of 14 weeks but I did not play for about 1 month during that time. So you think I must play every day or at least 3-4 times a week? No. I play on average 1 day per week for 3-4 hours. The toe area of the sole is through to the cloth inside and on the other shoe the tread is gone and soon will be through to the cloth as well. I am about a UTR 8, so I am not anything super special like a top college or ITF player. Those players play like every day.
I grew up on the barricades but its frustrating when 1 month in your feet still tend to burn when you take it out of the shoe and then you only get like 1.5 months of light use with the shoe broken in. This is suppose to be a durability shoe...
The positive of the shoe was that it really does support the foot well. It wraps around your foot and if you use the extra hole on the one side you get the ankle support that feels missing with just the bilateral holes. I just wish the shoe lasted longer considering it had only light use.
Barricade is niceThe sole and tread on the Barricade are very tough. Almost no signs of wear after extensive use. Good cushion and lateral support. I don't love the long, skinny laces though. When I tighten them down to lock in my ankle, over time those laces dig into the top of my foot. I personally do not get as good of an ankle lockdown with this shoe as others. I will add, my wife also plays in the adidas Barricade and she loves them. She has a very small foot, and they fit her perfectly.
Classic Shoe with ImprovementsGrowing up on hard courts and playing tournaments, the Barricade's were the only one's that would stand the beating. This version is more comfortable and a bit of a sleeker style. I'm still planning on using them for hardcourts, but expect that the clay court version is a simple derivation of this and quite good. In my brief usage of these shoes, I have liked them. The fit is true to size.
Adidas BarricadeI like to break in the shoes by walking in them for a week. They are my favorite tennis shoes. I find them comfortable but tough. I have a relatively high arch and the insole fits well.
adidas BarricadeI like the new shoe a lot more than the old style, a little bit looser in the front of the foot which makes it way more comfortable
Tried Most and Keep Coming BackI've tried on a lot of shoes and played months in others. For me, this is the best shoe for pickleball for my fairly narrow feet. During the non-ski months, I'm a 5-day/week 4-hours/day player, and these shoes hold up well.
painfully uncomfortable and deadthese were like playing in a rented bowling shoe. zero cushioning or response. gave me forefoot and knee pain and that was on clay. do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. good on tennis warehouse for taking them back.
