Waste of MoneyPurchased on 2/4/24 for my grandson to play tennis. Tennis at school just started end of March. Shoes already have a hole in side of shoes and bottoms already wearing out. Hasn't even worn them a month, they don't hold up.
Beauty turned into the Beast in 3 WeeksAh, what a sight they were, those tennis shoes! May they rest in pieces. Beautiful looking and comfortable tennis shoes. A sight to behold, truly, with their elegant design and comforting embrace for the feet. Compliments galore! However, alas, my heart sinks to recount the tale of their downfall. Ordered on 2/14/24, little did I anticipate that their beauty would swiftly give way to a dreadful transformation akin to a ferocious beast.
My dear lad of fifteen summers, a fine player in his own right upon the high school tennis courts, surely puts his footwear through its paces. Yet, even with such expectations, the rapid decay that befell these MS130/Yonex Sonicage 3 White/Red Men's shoes, size 13.0, is simply unfathomable. One would reckon it an improbable feat for a tennis shoe to deteriorate so swiftly, yet here we stand, lamenting the demise of footwear scarcely three weeks into its tenure.
I just ordered on 3/11/24 the MS130/Yonex PC Eclipsion 5 White Men's 13 to replace the Sonicage 3 so here is to crossing toes and hoping that the kin are also beautiful and comfortable as well as a saviour to their sibling.
Not durableBought this shoe for my son and he started wearing it one week after it arrived. He played tennis with it four times a week. It's been about one month and it already has a hole at front of his right shoe. He is on his toes most of the time. Very disappointed! I would not recommend it.
Poor fitThe shoes are cumbersome to wear and offer poor support throughout, especially in the forefoot area. Avoid purchasing the shoes as they’re not worth the cost.
SurprisingI need a wide shoe. I've been using Babolat SFX and lately K-Swiss. This Yonex shoe has surprised me. It doesn't look like a wide shoe and it fits somewhat snugly so I expected trouble. But this shoe has worked extremely well for me. It has a slightly transverse design. Instead of crunching my little toes (which is my general problem with tennis shoes) it seems to channel the forward thrust of my foot toward the apex, diffusing the stress. My small toes are protected. Amazing. Just bought another pair to have on hand when this pair wears out.
Durability - and I'm OLD!I guess I have an amazingly powerful first step because I've worn out the inner edge of this shoe during the off season!
If this were summer, I'm guessing they would've lasted a month.
Context: My tennis friends seem to get MUCH longer out of their shoes so I think I tend to chew them up. But still...for the price you pay for this grippy shoe, durability is lacking.
Comfort Able!!These are the most comfortable tennis shoes I've ever had. When you forget they are on your feet after a few hours of tennis, that means they're good shoes. They have a soft upper, a cushioned bottom and grippy outsoles. Unfortunately, the outsoles didn't last more than a few months but even with the tread gone, I never slipped because of the grippy rubber. I'm about 155 lbs, I have narrow-medium width feet and I play 6 hours a week.
Good light weight shoeI've worn the Ascis Solution Speed FF for several years, but they've gotten hard to find in my shoe size (11) and the price has gone up significantly. Tried the Yonex today, and I really like them. Don't know how durability will be, but they are very comfortable and light. I'm a 4.0 to 4.5 hard court player who plays several times a week.
