With this ultra light racquet, Wilson puts its legendary Pro Staff formula into an extremely user-friendly package

Wilson updates the feel of the lightest member of the Pro Staff family but keeps the user-friendly speed and playability of the previous generation. Named the Pro Staff 97UL v14, this racquet delivers an easy learning curve to dedicated beginners and early intermediate players. Boasting an ultra maneuverable swingweight, the Pro Staff 97UL not only makes it easy to achieve clean contact with the ball but it also enables less advanced players to achieve the required stroke speed for effective pace and spin. According to Wilson, this update recaptures that classic Pro Staff feel with Paradigm Bending a layup technology that optimizes the bending ratio between the shaft and head. This racquet also has FORTYFIVE technology, which strategically aligns the graphite fibers at a 45 degree angle to increase lateral bending through impact. The payoff is increased dwell time and pocketing for greater command over the ball. Like the previous generation, this racquet also has String Mapping, which combines denser spacing in the center for control with wider spacing at the margins for greater comfort outside the sweetspot. Ultimately, with some nice updates to the feel, this racquet continues to be an obvious option for improving players looking to tap into the controllable power and great feel of the legendary Pro Staff family.

Classic Junior RacquetMy 11-year-old absolutely loves it. Gives excellent control on slice, volleys, flat shots and serves. Try hybriding 18G-poly with NXT Power or Gut for better playability. Also another shout-out to TW for getting my racquet strung and delivered next day! Stupendous!

SurpriseI usually come from the other range of weight/swingweight, just short and shy of the RFA... I chose this for Doubles, and I am not so sure to take it fir singles, too. Added some lead center.

UpdateRestrung at 40/35 and the racquet is amazing. I have good power and control. And with the light weight I can come over more of my 1 handed backhands while on the run but even when I have to slice it stays low and deep with great spin. Finally my backhand slice is not a huge liability. Buy this racquet or some version of it and if your using full poly I would string 2 piece and don't afraid to go low on the tension.

Great racquetJust got mine strung it 45/40lbs with Volkl Cyclone 18L and its great but i could use a little bit more pop so ill go 5 pounds lower at try it. But the control is great and the whole racquet feels like a sweet spot not a lot of dead zone. I never thought i would like less than 100sq inch frame, but I was wrong. I can swing away and still control the ball.
