This special edition of the Blade 98 16x19 v9 celebrates the French Open

Wilson celebrates the French Open with this limited edition version of the Blade 98 16x19 v9! Defined by its pinpoint precision and outstanding feel, the Blade formula has attracted generations of players. In addition to its classic 21mm box beam and 16x19 string pattern, this racquet features a sub-330 swingweight, giving it impressive speed while still delivering the needed heft to absorb and redirect the pace of big hitters. This racquet incorporates Direct Connect Technology, fusing the butt cap directly to the carbon fiber handle for increased stability. It also features Wilson's FortyFive layup technology, which increases lateral flexibility to complement the explosive vertical mechanics of the modern game (think spin). Additional technologies include StableFeel, which introduces a slightly firmer layup for greater stability and easier access to power. Experienced ball strikers will appreciate the new Clip & Go grommet system, which not only locks down the bumper but also makes for easier grommet replacement. Intermediate and advanced players looking for controllable power and outstanding feel will love this one. The French Open cosmetic is a very nice touch.

I suspect there’s a problem with quality coThe version I bought has a noticeably heavier head and overall weight compared to my other regular version. When I play, the contact point always feels delayed. I think the US Open version has quality control issues.

Wilson BladeWilson how about making a Wilson 97 Blade staff with PWS? It would be a cross between a pro staff and blade.

Wilson BladeThis racquet does well at balancing power and control. The stiffness of the racquet helps for redirecting the ball and the weight keeps the racquet maneuverable

Great stick for performance, hard on the armI am a 4.0-4.5 player, have used the Wilson Clash for years and wanted something more from my racquet. The Blade delivers in precision and performance! I love the racquet, however, may need to move back the Clash due to the immediate discomfort delivered to my arm. Also, if you are used to a 3/8 grip, make sure you go to a 1/4 which feels much closer in size with the 3/8 I had with the Clash.

The best for intermediate to advanced playersI've tested many racquets, and in the end the feel I get, the precision and control from this one its second to none. I like to use it with Solace Hyper G 1.25 at 50 pounds.

Total controlThis version is all about contour from all areas of the court. If you can’t provide a good technical strike, this racquet is not for you. Spin potential is there in abundance… If you have the tech down. Love my frames… Recommended for intermediate players and up.

Love new Wilson Blade 98, 16x19, v9As a long-time user of Yonex VCORE Pro 97 330g, I tried several new frames, and was surprised how much I enjoyed the relatively light Wilson Blade 98, v9. It feels very solid, even on slightly off-center hits, and strikes the perfect balance between power and control. No wonder it’s one of the leading frames on the WTA Tour.

Amazing Tennis RacketThis racquet has pretty good power when hitting forehand, and backhand. When hitting topspin on this racquet it is flawless I love it so much. Serving is the best when using this racquet. This is a must get 10/10 recommend

Buyers remorse, great racquet thoughThe Blade 98 is a great racquet, but I think the Ezone 98 was just better and I regret buying the Blade for the $50 dollars off. Great racquet though, but after the frame is used a lot I'm definitely switching to a Yonex.
