Great clamp!Although an experienced stringer can get by without a starting clamp, I finally decided to try using a clamp. Well, the clamp made string so much easier, that I ended up purchasing a second clamp because it allows me to tie better knots and deal with a variety of contingencies. I purchased the Gamma clamp based on its outstanding reviews and it did not disappoint. It makes stringing two-piece setups so much easier.

Slips a lotI have tried to use this to help when I run short on string and it doesn't hold the string.
quality starting clampI had this for about a month, it is the only starting claim I own. I wanted a quality tool vs less pricy claims selling on eBay, Amazon might have them but they would be more expensive. They get the job done and are made of high quality material. I recommend it.
One month old and constantly slipsUsed this for one month and now slips every time. I've tried cleaning it with alcohol with no success.

Comments: For five years, I've been wasting string sets by using 21 feet for bigger frames. I was unable to sell the remaining 19 feet. After doing a little research, I found that the Gamma Stringer Starting Clamp solved my problem. Now I have no more wasted string. This tool is truly a butt saver!

Comments: This Gamma Starting clamp works perfect and has a great amount of bite on the string. Additionally, it is a must have tool for those situations where you are all clamped down and may need a third clamp. It is also a big help when you are doing some custom partial string jobs and it can clamp in places where your normal clamp may have problems. Way worth the bang for the buck.

Comments: The Gamma starting clamp is my 1st starting clamp. Starting clamp is a must buy tool if you stringing your own racquet. It's costly but you can tie your knots way easier and tighter (compared to other clamps), so you only lose minimum tension at the end of your restring work. (People also use it to start to restring the main by holding the string against the bottom or the top of the racquet, which I found flying clamp is good enough for this purpose.) Build quality is good; the 3 springs really do have enough pressure to hold the string properly.
