Customer Reviews
Leather gripI found it too thick, no peel-off sticker to hold to a racket handle. I ended up fitting RF leather grip.
Best Leather Hands DownEasily the best leather on the market. Perfect for seamlessly finding bevels of the grip under an overgrip. During indoor season, can go without an overgrip if you lubricate the leather with castor oil, and let it sit overnight. Really only needs to be done once a year.

The bestI’ve used exclusively fairway for several years - it’s the gold standard of leather grips. With a little castor oil, you can play without an overgrip for most of the year.

The best leather grips out thereThese are excellent grips that hold up well over time whether you're using them directly or even with an over grip. You can still feel the bevels well and it helps to tail weight the racket a bit.

Comments: Be careful, this grip adds quite a bit of weight to your racquet. Mine came 32 grams untrimmed which I guess is above average accordingly to TW. However, this is just simply such a good grip when used without an overwrap. It has the right degree of tackiness for accurate grip changes and gripping your stick in general. This was not to hard to install even without double sided tape, just make sure to wrap tightly. Overall, this is an amazing grip gives me nostalgia of the old days when everyone used a leather grip.

Comments: Reading the comments on this grip suggests to me that these people don't know anything about grips. The average person couldn't tell the difference between a Fairway or another leather grip with an over grip on it. If you do use a leather grip with no over grip, Fairways are the best. Installing them takes a bit of practice. I use a little double sided tape on the butt cap and proceed to wrap like any other grip once you get it started. You have to break it in a bit and the natural oils of your hand will take a little time. To clean them, I simply stick them under the facet and gently wipe off the dirt gently and towel dry.

Comments: I have just installed the grips on my new Babolat Aeropro Drives and what a difference it makes from the factory bibelot grip, better feeling, better balance and better looking!

Comments: Bought an early St. Vincent Wilson Pro Staff 85 on a jumble sale a year ago, with its original Fairway Grip installed. The stick proved a bit too demanding for my style of play, but I got interested in leather grips. It seems to be a unspoken law, that leather grip implies an overgrip. The leather grips I tried, are, in fact, too slippery to use without. What you get with those Fairways? These are not too easy to install (a tape is conspicuous by its absence for one, you have to reuse the ones you remove), but it can be done with some patience. If you have clicked, you are in for a curious and very pleasant surprise. As far as I understand, the trick is to use these Fairways without an overgrip. This grip lets loose immediately, when you relax the grip only slightly. The grip does not "follow" you in that it expands a bit because of its elasticity, and it is not so tacky as to "catch" your grip, when you want to change it. That is you don't have to "disentangle" your hand from the racquet grip; this results in a very quick, intuitive change of grip. You have to hold the grip thight enough for a stroke. Those tacky ones usually mislead you a bit: they make you believe to be in control of the racquet if you are not. Pure leather does not do that. It gives you the feed back you need to play precise tennis. I've put these Fairways on my Pacific BX2 Force Pro, and it certainly adds annother dimension to that fine stick. I can't describe it an better: it is like driving a small strong BMW fast over small roads. It is still somewhat comfortable, but it tells you exactly what you and your device are doing at the moment, and you are so much more confident going for the lines. Very, very well done, these Fairway Grips. Big compliments from me.

Comments: Definitely one of the toughest grips to install. Especially on wicked butt caps like the new Wilson ones, it's almost impossible. The leather is so tough that even rubbing alcohol, heating it up with a hairdryer and even soaking it in hot water does not help. Very disappointed! Not recommended
