Designed for all-out comfort, these Babolat SFX 4 shoes now have even more cushioning between your feet and the court, and continue to offer a wider fit. Extra Cush foam in the midsole feels pillowy soft, while the mesh upper delivers a nice breathable and flexible feel. Rubber has been added to the medial side of the toe box and tip of the toe, to protect the mesh from foot-drag. Babolat's tried and true Michelin rubber is formed into a two piece outsole, with a TPU shank plate in between to help with stability. The herringbone tread has been beefed up in high wear zones for added durability, and the Michelin rubber delivers great traction on a variety of court surfaces.

More Support, Narrower ToeboxCompared with SFX3, SFX4 offers more support, cushioning, and stability, but has a narrower toebox; which meant I had go up half a size. Overall, the SFX4 feels better and more solid.
Drop the SFX4 and go back to the SFX3.I have worn SFX3 shoes for the last 20 years. They were great shoes with a great fit and feel. Sadly, Babolat has replaced the SFX3 with SFX4 that has a tight poor fit and feel even with a full size larger. I have now gone to the Babolat Jet Tere. They are much better than the SFX4 but far from as good as SFX3.
Pleasantly surpricedThese shoes look and feel sort of clunky at first, like crocks, but surprisingly comfortable and supportive after some time. Runs half size long. In general for a wider feet. Good if you are wearing inserts. Need a little bit of break in, but after that that feels comfortable on side to side and forward springs. Durability is still to be figured out but after a few weeks (5 times per week PB) I see some wear so unlikely I'll get more than 2-3 month out of it, which is not bad at all.
SFX 4Runs big, order 1/2 size smaller. Very plush and cushioned. Would definitely recommend!

A superb alternativeI was disappointed when Tennis Warehouse did not have my favorite shoe, a New Balance 4E wide model, in my size. Warehouse staff conferred and recommended this Babolat model as a strong alternative choice. I’m very pleased with the shoe’s ample cushioning, space and tread … it’s very comfortable, no regrets.

Lovely shoes for Wide feetI wear these for tennis and pickleball. They fit well, get the job done and look good. I replaced my golf shoes with these as well.
Babolat SFX 4 AC shoeVery comfortable shoe with no break in time. I have a wide foot but these shoes are extra wide. The size D width would probably be adequate for players that need a slightly wider shoe than most brands. Extended heel is a little funky.
Updated but not improvedShoe still fits well although a little more narrow but still fits a wider foot. This updated shoe feels more padded but is overkill as it felt unstable right away. Not as great for lateral movement as the sfx 3. Never took it on the court as it just didn't seem stable enough for aggressive play. Probably good if your looking for comfort and not starting and stopping hard
Wide width: heavy and bulkyShoe is a true wide width, 4E, and it’s foot-shaped toe area is great. Must downsize 1/2 size. I got the 9Wide but wasnt sure if I had the correct size ( may need an 8.5 wide ) After 1 month, the shoe serves its purpose: excellent shock absorbtion for 265lb guy, durable,great grip, snug fit with Babolat’s proprietary lacing that doesnt come apart BUT they are heavy and bulky! Dont like it coming from a NewBalance customer 596V4 model which the manufacture doesnt make anymore. Why? Why are all tennis shoe manufacturers making heavy shoes (15 oz and above)?
Wide WidthIt's hard to find wide enough tennis shoes for my son. These are great quality and are the ones he sticks with time after time.

Sent me to the PodiatristI’ve worn every single iteration of the SFX since they were first introduced. I’ve always loved their roomy fit, support and durability. While this version is stylish and also roomy, they changed the way your foot sits inside the shoe, raising height of the heel. While in theory this seems like a good idea to provide more cushioning against shock, it shifts more weight, stress and pressure to the ball of your foot. After breaking them in by walking around my home for a hour several days in a row, I played one doubles match in these and felt immense pain for several days afterwards. I went to urgent care the following day and they diagnosed me with metatarstalgia. After 2 weeks of continuous pain, I decided to go to the podiatrist. Upon inspecting the shoes, he confirmed that they caused the stress and pain and urged me to send them back. I cannot since I’ve already worn them for 2 hours but I refuse to use them again. Full disclosure: I used custom orthotics in them so maybe others will have better luck playing them as-is. This happened in early March and I’m still experiencing some pain in both feet as a result.
Good Shoe for the priceThis shoe is very comfortable and wears well. Since other reviews mentioned the shoe is wide and fits loose. I decided to order 1/2 size smaller, and they fit perfect.

Babolat SFX 4Shoe is built more substantial than the 3. I did not like the high height on shoe. Rubbed my skin raw below ankle. This occurred when walking about 4 miles, while breaking them in. I’m worried what will happen when I actually play tennis in them. At this point I would not recommend. In past, I bought 6-8 pairs of SFX 3. Wish they were still available. Looking for new shoe similar to 3.
Comfortable shoeThese shoes are really comfortable. The upper is very soft and flexible. The sizes are a little weird though. I’m a 9.5 but the 9.5 in this shoe is a little big. I tried the 9 also but it was too small. I had to go with the larger size. Overall I like the shoe.
Great shoeTo be fair, I have only played in these shoes on 1 occasion. I will review the things I know so far about this shoe. I normally wear a 10.0 2E. After reading some reviews I decided to give these a shot although they did not come in a wide fit. I went with a 10.0 but after getting the shoes I realized they were too big and downsized to a 9.5. The 9.5 fit well and there is plenty of width in the toe box. They were comfortable out of the box. I am sure they will be even more comfortable the more I wear. The shoes had exceptional traction and the heel a lot of cushioning.
Poor update to older modelBeen wearing the SFX 3s for years. I loved that shoe. The update on the SFX 4 is a bulkier shoe that isn’t as maneuverable as the old one. The stiff wall around the ankle digs into the outside of my ankle so much that it bleeds.
