Overview

Babolat has been on the fast track to producing and constantly improving their paddle designs, and without a doubt the updates made to the 2024 Babolat MNSTR pickleball paddle are noticeable. The hybrid shape of 16.1" x 7.8" is largely the same, however the handle length has been increased to 5.3 inches, making it ideal for one or two handed shot makers. Internally, the MNSTR uses a 15mm polypropylene hoenycomb core, which strikes a nice balance between all-out core power and control. The surfaces are now even grittier and more spin friendly than the prior edition of the MNSTR thanks to the RPM Grit and SMAC materials to improve comfort without sacrificing a connected feel to your shots. Furthering the theme of feel and comfort is Babolat's PF (Perfect Feel) handle, which is a good way to describe their attention to detail, in terms of grip shape and proportion. Tipping the scales at around 7.9 ounces in stock form, this MNSTR is stable and obedient from anywhere in the court and is also perfect for modifying with extra weight. It is safe to say that its all-court performance will satisfy the needs of most any level of player, as the 2024 Babolat MNSTR leans slightly towards power, but with plenty of precision, which is ideal for both back-court blasters, and crafty net surgeons alike.

Would Recommend
Babolat MNSTR BlueI have played with the original Babolat MNSTR for more than three years, and it has remained my paddle of choice, despite trying a number of newer and different brands. I welcomed all the reported improvements in the newest model, but found the quality of play with it to be only marginally better than the older model, and certainly not worth the increased price. It continues to be a very control oriented paddle, and you can generate a significant amount of pace on demand. Overall, it is a good paddle for anyone looking for a paddle that offers a good mix of control and pace.
