Returning.I have been only wearing Gel Resolution series since 2018. For the first time, I am getting weird pinching pain on top of my foot after wearing this version just once. Its too wide, doesn't feel stable, and my insoles don't fit. They fit perfectly with gel resolution 9. Also too high on ankles, very uncomfortable. Nowadays I can't even find previous versions anywhere. This is so disappointing. :(

Very uncomfortable compared to gen 9I tried both the 7.5 and 8; the 7.5 (my normal size) was so tight my feet started falling asleep in 10 minutes, so I bought the 8. I have broken them in for 20 hours now and they are still so uncomfortable. I have permanent bruising on my inner heels, and on my upper foot near the toes where the thick plastic upper flexes into my foot. I obviously can't return them at this point but I will not be buying asics again until the model changes to be more like what it was before, which is a bummer because I love the durability of the sole.

ASICS gen resolution XDid not like this shoe, they changed how it feels and it is very uncomfortable. Tried it on and could feel the difference. I am returning it and have ordered a Le Coste and a pair of KSwiss shoes. Hopefully one of these shoes will be comfortable and provide the support like the former ASICS gel resolution shoes

Asics Resolution XI've worn Asics Resolution for at least 15 years for tennis and paddle, and this is the first significant change in their look in all the years I've worn them. I think they feel great just like the previous ones but they look better! No break- in needed.

Finally Found COMFORT!I have been looking for shoes to fit my 10 B feet with med-high arch for several years. I used to wear Asics Speed Solutions and Gel Resolutions which were great 10 YEARS AGO - but then they changed style and they felt cramped and all plastic. The worst was when they added that tight short strap that crossed at the start of the string holes which could not be loosened, so unless your foot fit perfectly there, it cut into the top of your foot. I decided to try again with Asics newest release -Gel Resolution X. I ignored the less than stellar reviews I had read for the shoe and went ahead and ordered a pair hoping for the best. First off, I was pleased to see that they finally replaced that stupid strap with a stretchy piece. They fit true to size with just a little room at the end of the toebox which was perfect, and although a bit heavier than I remembered them to be, they felt solid underfoot, have GREAT cushioning and are built to last. The top side of the shoe where it sits above your inside ankle is a little higher by design to prevent rolling your ankle but is soft and cushioned and I did not notice it at all while playing. Although my 10 B width felt a little snug, they were comfortable for the first hour of playing in them but then they started to feel tight. The next time I played with them, I was able to play 1-1/2 hours before it bugged me. The reviews do say there is a break in period so I will keep on trying to break those in. In the meantime, I bought a 10 wide and they are perfect! Right length, room to cinch them in a bit if needed and after wearing them around the house for an hour to test them out and passing that test, I played a match with them and they were great. I bought a second pair of wides and this time literally took them out of the box and wore them in a USTA match. They were fantastic with ZERO break in period! I will keep working on breaking in the 10 B Gel Resolution X and I think they will be OK, but if I can find more of the wide width that is what I will buy in this shoe. My prior shoes were Fila Axilus 2, now 3. At some point Fila started manufacturing them too short so I would have to try and find a 10-1/2 which became impossible to find on any website. They are not made nearly as well as the Asics X so win-win for me! Asics - please make more of your shoes in WIDE or make your B width a true B width!

Not as good as other ASICS tennis shoesUnfortunately these shoes’ sole is not comfortable and they get overheated very easily, if you live in a sunny climate. I was very disappointed because I love my previous ASICS tennis shoes, which I keep wearing because of the discomfort of the new ones. The lateral support of these new ones is good but the comfort for the foot inside is very poor.

Huge DisappointmentI have been wearing ASICS Gel Resolution hard court shoes for over 12 years. I was excited to try the X version because of the promise of a roomier toe box. I just received my pair. My initial try on felt comfortable and stable. Wow, was I wrong. I wore them this evening for a 1.5 hour drill. My plan was to break them in for the next couple of weeks to then wear during my women’s sectionals tournament. I have never experienced such painful rubbing of a shoe until tonight. My medial ankles are rubbed absolutely raw. No amount of ‘breaking in’ or thicker socks will prevent this from recurring with each wear. It’s curious to me why the height of the medial ankle portion of the shoe is so disproportionate to the actual height of a person’s ankle?? In addition the lacing pattern of the shoe is completely ridiculous and prevents the implementation of the Runners Loop Lacing technique in order to safely and effectively lock my heels into the shoes. This is a complete waste and there is no way I can continue with this assault to my feet. I will not be wearing this pair of shoes again.

Works for meI've used Asics Gel Resolutions for years. When the X came out, I had many friends who disliked. I tried a few others such as the NB CT Rally (no cushioning under foot!) before I bit the bullet and tried the X. For me, it's fine. I don't have any issues with the toe box. The extra height in the inner ankle didn't bother me. It has good cushioning and support. My only beef is that the heel is not locked in as well as I'd like. I'm still experimenting with lacing to try to address. While I'd rather have the old versions, the X works fine for me. I'm an advanced player and aggressive mover with a narrow-to-average foot.

Not greatI want the resolution 8 or 9’s back. To start though, if you are complaining that they’re too narrow, then you’ve never read a single review. The resolution’s have always run narrow, so it shouldn’t be a surprise anymore. However, they did change some plastic toward the toe on the outside of the shoe that may make them feel more narrow - it rubs my foot and causes pain. The inside ankle is way too high, you have to wear fall socks or it will rub your bone raw. They changed how the laces go and they absolutely suck. I tie them normally and they feel like my feet will skip out. After playing in them for 5 minutes I have to retie them so tight, making the laces almost long enough to trip over. I don’t know who designs these but they suck. If I try the dedicates at least they are less money, but I might switch to a new brand seeing as they’ll just keep changing the models til you hate them.

Bring the resolution 8/9 model backWhy does ASICS continue to try to fix something that is not broken? I played high school and college tennis, and now teach for a living. I have always worn the gel resolution shoes. The 7, 8, and 9’s were such a quality shoe. The tens are such a step down from the previous models. They raised the side on the ankle which now hit my ankle bone and rubs it raw. They took away the last two holes so you can no longer lace them up all the way, almost making them feel less supportive. Every time they come out with a new model there is more plastic, the same is true with this model. I will probably be switching brands as ASICS can’t seem to just keep a good shoe in stock for more than a year….really disappointing.

Shoes are too narrowI was really disappointed with these new gel res X shoes. I wish they felt like the previous gel res shoes. These have lost the cushy comfort on the soles of the shoes and they are very narrow. I don’t have wide feet and by the end of my tennis session, my pinky toes were very sore.

Uncomfortable ShoeWhy they would take the Gel Resolution 9…one of the best shoes straight out of the box and turn it into the X makes no sense. Extremely uncomfortable with new design on ankle…..returned them ! Will need to find Gel Resolution 9 from third party seller or no choice but to consider a new brand for tennis.

Good quality, bought for ankle supportLove my new Asics Resolution! I tried multiple brands and these were my favorite based on quality, fit and comfort. I generally wear size 7.5-8 and ended up getting the 7.5. The shoes have great support on the inside for my ankle and the shape of the shoe on the outer edge is perfect to help prevent ankle injuries. Feel very well made. No complaints so far.

Terrible Design and Extremely UncomfortableAs a competitive tennis player, I have been wearing the Asics Resolution shoes for years. While designs have changed, they all remained comfortable and supportive until this one. The Resolution X is a terrible design, poor fitting and extremely uncomfortable and unsupportive shoe. Not sure why they had to take a good thing and ruin it. The shoe is very sloppy in the foot bed and is too high around the ankle bone causing constant rubbing. Previous models, I could wear right out of the box and were true to size with no break-in. Even after wearing these a couple times, they are still terrible and my plantar fasciitis has returned. Throwing them in the trash.

Not improvedStill great lateral stability but the sides come up too high and cut into the bottom of my ankle, really uncomfortable even with higher socks. Really not please with this generation as I have long and narrow feet, not just any shoe will work for me. This has been my go to for over 13 years. Fortunately, I have a few pairs of the older version until I figure out what to do.

Defective DesignFirst, I ONLY wear ASICS for my tennis game. This shoe has a hard plastic outer part that squeezes the top of my narrow foot causing intense pain. Everything else about the shoe was excellent. But these had to go back.

kind of depends on your feetthe heel part is definitely raised compared to the previous models but it's more so raised towards the inside, not the middle. will feel uncomfortable when you sit criss cross but i personally didn't find it uncomfortable when playing (i wear ankle socks and have narrow feet). toe box area is fine to me but size down half a size

New Asics Gel Resolution XNot loving my new Gel Resolution X. I have worn the Gel Resolution for about five years now and rely on their locked in feel and stability. I have a narrow heel and relatively narrow foot. These are cut different than the previous Resolution 9: tighter in the toe box and a little higher up on your ankle. They also seem to have less cushion in the front. Reviews said that they ran a little bigger so I went down half a size, but the toe box is tight. The shoes took a little breaking in time, but I still miss the old style.

Numb feetI have been wearing Gel Resolutions for a decade and these are the first version that haven’t worked for me: The higher back plus a narrower toe box have been really uncomfortable when playing to the point my feet have gone numb and I’ve had to take the shoes off for a few minutes before continuing to play. Loosening the laces barely helps.

Very DissapointedI have worn ASICS Gel Resolution for years. They have been my go to shoe as a tennis instructor. Very disappointed in the new shoe with the higher ankle fit. It rubs on both of my inner ankle bones and is very uncomfortable.

Please bring back previous modelI have been so loyal to the previous resolution and rotate through 2-3 pairs a year with a lot of play and they are a perfect fit over and over again. The only thing I would ask is more color options to include a solid black and solid white. And really just following the trends of outfit colors for monochromatic looks would be ideal. Some of the color combos that ASICS chooses are yuck. I got really excited to see the new cream tonal ones but sadly the fit was so terrible, I couldn’t wear them.

Attractive but very uncomfortable! These shoes are unbelievably uncomfortable, and I found the "wide" description to be very off and misleading. The forefoot is barely any larger than a medium-width shoe though what caused incredibly discomfort, including blisters on my pinky toes but also severe foot pain is that the slope of where the upper of the shoe comes down to meet the sole on the outside edges is so low that it pushes down on the bones of the foot. The color is attractive, and the lacing system is "interesting" though I had to go to the physical therapist because of the extreme pain that was caused by my foot bones being pushed on due to the poor design.

A bit heavyI have worn KSwiss Hypercourt Express for years. I definitely need the wide in the Asics, compared to KSwiss. The Asics require a break-in period. They are stiff and heavy. They are comfortable for about an hour, and then must be switched out. But this is improving. Still not convinced I like them.

OUCH!I was so excited to get these- I LOVE my 9s. I assumed they would be even better, but was WAAAAY wrong. I’ve try to wear these a few times- hoping they’d relax. Each time, I’ve gotten a blister on inner ankle. The inner wall is incredibly stiff, and even causes my socks to get shoved down- then I get a blister. They also seem to be more grippy than necessary, and I’ve gotten tripped up a few times. Ugh.

Rubs, terrible upgradeThese are terrible, liked the old style. These are stiffer, and higher ankle support. I have to wear high socks because they rub so bad. I feel like I'm stiffly stopping all over the court. Do not like this so called upgrade.

AwfulFor years I have been the biggest fan of Asics, the only shoe I wear. However, this new version of Asics was disappointing for me. One side came up high which took some time to break in and get used to. The toe box was extra wide and baggy on me, the only solution was to wear two thick socks. I've tried to make them work but I wish I never bought them and will never buy them again

Too Supportive?I loved my gel resolution 7s and have had several generations since. It seems like with each generation, Asics tries to make the shoes more supportive and stable. This time they went too far for me and I returned them rather than trying to break them in. May be OK for a more aggressive player than I am, but these were just too uncomfortable out of the box. I am a 72 year old 3.0 with a very narrow foot.

It takes a while to break in, but then goodIt does always take a while for me to break in my Asics tennis shoes. But I always feel like it is worth it because in the end it gives me stability like no other shoe. I nearly gave up on this one. The upper flaps were high and wore on my right ankle. My toes felt like they were tingly for a while, even if I loosened it. It probably took eight times of using these shoes before they finally felt good. Now they are good, but it felt like a real sacrifice! Because of the sacrifice, I am not giving it a five, I’m giving it a four.

AMAZINGI LOVE this new shoe. The Comfort and the Stability is great. I think it is much better than the 9th version as I feel like I can play more without thinking what is on my feet which is great. Also the cream color is so fun and cute!

Don't buy this new version!Loved the previous models of this shoe. This new version is so uncomfortable as they raised the sides on the ankle approximately 3/4 inch. Not good! Painfull where it now hit on the ankle. If you read the "fine print" of their description, they mention the change. Had to return. Hope they modify it again back to what it was!

What happened??? Tear down the WallI am a very loyal Asics customer - at least 2 pair of Gel Resolutions per year for over a decade. I'm a 5.0 woman, mostly singles, only hard courts, and I have a very standard size foot. I always wear a size 8 in the Gel Resolutions for tennis and the Kayanos for running. Asics should throw away the shoe mold for this "update!" The DYNAWALL - the asymmetric interior high side - is both unnecessary and extremely uncomfortable. I didn't expect the shoes to be comfortable out of the box, but the only solution might just be to tear down the Dynawall. The other flaw is the higher, toe box area, officially called the vamp, that results in a sloppier fit. I appreciate that Asics was trying to provide more support and that the new Xs will work really well for some people, but I'm going to have to skip this version.
