New Balance was founded in 1906 and it was originally named the New Balance Arch Support Company. It is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts and it was founded by William J. Riley who was an Irish immigrant. The first product he created was a flexible arch support. He wanted to create a product that was designed with three support points to provide greater balance and comfort in the shoe. Since the company was founded, their goal has been to empower people through sport and craftsmanship to create a positive change in communities around the world.
