New Babolat Pure Strike
Pure, clean, and urban, the new Pure Strike captures the essence of modernity, both in design and playability.
A Racquet Suited for the Modern Game
As a modern tennis player you face many problems.
To win you need maximum spin and pace on your shots, but you can't sacrifice control.
You need a modern control racquet. Something that's fast and offers good power. A racquet that will help you whip up copious spin, yet still offers a connection to the ball so you can find the corners, carve the angles and paint the lines. You need a racquet like the Babolat Pure Strike.
The Pure Strike is a racquet that comes around the body easily and allows you to accelerate the racquet through contact. Fast swings lead to more pace and spin, and here the Pure Strike delivers. Getting access to depth is very easy. You'll find a nice, controllable level of power so you can flirt with the baseline even on bigger swings.
“Pure Strike is about how you want (the racquet) to enter the air, how you manage the energy you want to put on the ball. Strike is about how you analyze the energy from your opponent. The initial insight of (Pure) Strike came from this observation. We wanted to play with the energy delivered by your opponent . . . it means you need to be quicker on the ball. You play with a smaller gesture. You need to absorb the energy of your opponent and put it back very quickly.” - Bertrand Barré, President & Co-founder Groupe Zebra - Babolat's Creative Agency
Want to inject some unexpected pace and spin to surprise and upset the rhythm of your opponent? No problem. The Pure Strike has ample pop to help you push opponents off the court as well as dispatch short balls and volleys. There's not the big time power of a Pure Drive and Pure Aero, rather a more controlled level of power, which encourages you to be aggressive with your targeting.
When looking to update the Pure Strike, Babolat listened to Pure Strike pro players, club players and recreational players. One player who’s feedback was essential to the development process was Dominic Thiem.
“We take the feedback and opinions of our pro players. We try to have them play with the racquet very early on in the process so that we can modify it according to their suggestions and what they feel. For example this racquet was tried by Dominic Thiem last December. He gave us his feedback. We worked on it and he actually switched to it at the French Open and made it to the final, so it shows that it worked.” -Alex Israel, Babolat Category Manager Expert Players
With feedback from players, Babolat looked to engineer more feel into this latest Pure Strike. In the modern game you are going to need to mix in some touch and placement. When you have an opponent pinned deep or wide, the Pure Strike has the feel to help you roll an angle, or drop a drop shot. At the net you feel connected to the ball thanks to the Pure Strike's crisp and clean response, something Babolat calls Pure Feel. The controlled response of the racquet gives you the confidence to make the most of the racquet's power.
Watch the Review
If you've been a fan of past Pure Strike models you'll find the new Pure Strike an easy racquet to transition into. Babolat listened to users of the 2017 Pure Strike and kept a similar level of playability. The feel of the racquet at contact was improved to give players a better sense of control, but the launch angle out of the stringbed, the pace and the amount of spin generated on shots will all be very familiar.
History of Babolat
