Dreaming of Tennis in Paris
It’s that time of year again! Hard court tennis has transitioned to clay, culminating with the second Grand Slam of the year – the French Open. Named after the pioneering French aviator Roland Garros (who was not a professional tennis player but was the first to cross the Mediterranean by plane), this major tournament is located on the western edge of Paris and dates back to 1891 when it was known as the French Clay-Court Championships.
The famous "terre battue" consists of crushed red bricks on top of layers of crushed white limestone, coal residue and crushed gravel. The red clay court surface is slower than hard courts and grass, giving this tournament its well-known reputation for long rallies and drawn-out matches, requiring the greatest level of endurance from competitors. The longest final at the French Open was played in 2025 when Carlos Alcaraz outlasted Jannik Sinner in a grueling 5-hour, 29-minute match to take home the trophy.
Whether you are lucky enough to attend in person, or you’re watching from afar, the next two weeks is sure to be exciting! Tennis Warehouse has everything you need so you don’t miss out on any of the action.
What the Pros are Wearing at Roland Garros
Most of us will never get the opportunity to play on Court Philippe-Chatrier, but we can look the part by wearing the same styles as our favorite players. A striking dress or matching kit can help us channel our inner champion during our next match.

Best Tech Wear
Even though we may never play a five-hour match, we can still appreciate technology that allows enhanced air flow and breathability in our court ensembles. Engineered ventilation and lightweight fabrics help keep us cool and dry during heated play at any level. These are some of our top picks.
Chic Court Styles
Paris is one of the fashion capitals of the world, so it’s no surprise that the French Open inspires us to look our best on court. These are some of our favorite chic looks this season.
Official Roland Garros Gear
If we can’t be in Paris to watch the action in person, we can be there in spirit with official Roland Garros gear. Tennis Warehouse has shirts, hats, towels and more to show your support for the clay.
Au Revoir!
The European clay season may be winding down, but Tennis Warehouse can keep you up to date with the latest pro looks, tech gear and chic styles throughout the whole year.
