Best Sports Bras for Tennis
When it comes to picking the best sports bra for tennis, it's not one size fits all! With that in mind, we asked a variety of tennis players to share what they love about their favorite sports bra. (Updated April 2023)
Best Sports Bra with Wide Appeal

Nike Swoosh Bra
One bra might not fit all, but this one comes as close as it gets. This Nike staple was a favorite of several of our tennis-playing staff. It's a classic sports bra, offering medium support with a compression style. It comes in your essential colors but also gets fresh color options every season, and that's one reason to love it, according to Zsofi. "I probably have a million of these, and many different colors as well! This bra has been my go-to for years! It is supportive, yet comfortable, no straps to mess with, easy on and off, " she says. Zsofi is a heavy-hitting all-court player who covers a lot of court and plays weekend league tennis.
Michelle, who plays a powerful game and also coaches, also has relied on this bra for her tennis needs for years. She explains, "This bra does everything I need it to without any extra frills or features. I tend to add activities onto my court sessions, which means I am often in search of a sports bra that can be worn seamlessly into a warm up run or post tennis gym session. I have a fairly broad build and wear either a 36C or 38B in casual bras, so a size large fits me just right with just the right amount of support. Plus, the Swoosh Bra is super easy to wash and remains one of the more durable sports bras I've worn."
The Nike Swoosh Bra was also a favorite for Therese. Playing about three times a week, she picks this bra as her tennis go-to because of its comfort. "If I'm not feeling any discomfort from my bra, then I can fully focus on my tennis game. The Nike Swoosh Bra does this for me," she explains. "Its comfortable, racerback design gives me just the right amount of stretch and support that I sometimes forget I'm wearing a bra at all."
Best High Support Bra that's Easy to Get On

Brooks Dare Scoop Bra 2.0
This Brooks Scoop Bra is one of the most supportive bras we carry at Tennis Warehouse, and that's why it's Amanda's pick. She's a first time mom and casual tennis player who loves a bra not only for its support, but also for its comfort. "I’m always looking for a bra with a lot of support for my large chest, but also one that is easy on/off," Amanda says. "This bra offers the support I need and with the clasp in the back, I can easily take it off after a sweaty workout session. It’s also very comfortable and has great shape; a go-to favorite."
Best High Support Racerback Bra

Brooks Dare Crossback 2.0 Bra
New mom Ali chose the Dare Crossback Bra for its simplicity and level of support. She's a a recreational tennis player who loves to play when she can find the time! She tells us, "I’ve always needed a lot of support (I wear a DD cup size) and I tend to prefer a racerback style for that reason. However, sometimes they can be so hard to get on! The Brooks Crossback Bra has a nice amount of stretch to make it easy to put on while providing an excellent amount of support. It’s also a flattering, yet simple style!
Tiffani aims to get on the court three times a week, but she also loves to mix it up with a variety of outdoor adventures and looks for a bra that can do it all. She also admittedly likes her bras to be on the simpler side, and that's why this Brooks bra is at the top of her list these days. She explains, "I like to skip the fiddly bits, so I don't really like to deal with removable bra pads. I take them out to wash and rarely remember to put them back in. This Brooks bra has molded support so I don't need to remember where I put those bra pads, and I love the pullover style because it's just easy."
Although Michelle still favors the Nike Swoosh Bra for its overall versatility, she gives bonus points to this Dare Crossback Bra for its seamless straps. This design leaves a smooth look beneath tops, and this bra is really comfortable with its super soft material.
Best Strappy Sports Bra

LIJA Core 2.0 Capsule Bra
You'll find Brittany on the court whenever she can find the time. Her favorite sports bra whether playing some singles or doubles is the LIJA Core 2.0 Capsule Bra for its style and ludicrously comfortable material. "The silhouette of this sports bra is extremely flattering and stylish underneath any top and tank or even by itself," Brittany says. "Not only does it look good, but it is also very comfortable. The material is so soft, I could sleep in it! The fun, skinny straps are perfect for those who need minimal support, and the removable cups give the option of extra coverage and shape."

I didn't pick up a racquet until I was 48. In the beginning I front loaded my game with a ton of lessons and hitting sessions because I had a lot of ground to make up. I was playing 5-6 days a week. Now that I feel more comfortable with my abilities, I am playing about 3 days per week and I am on three teams. I love the social aspect and the support dynamics of being on a team and I am totally addicted to the game of tennis! Now that my kids are almost fully grown and they don't need me (physically) as much, tennis is the perfect sport to fill up a lot of my free time. It is also my primary exercise. I gravitate toward neutral and pale colors in my tennis wardrobe and prefer tennis shorts to skirts lately because I am more comfortable wearing them from the court to going out and running my errands.

I’m an all-court player. I run around a lot and work hard in the heat. Pretty heavy hitter as well, and I play in a league on the weekends also.
I have an active lifestyle: I play tennis, pickleball, ride my bike on trails and go on hikes regularly. I often wear my workout outfit as my everyday style as well. I'm looking for comfort and just enough support. My general style is more tomboy-ish, athletic, and I prefer darker colors.

Life is too short to not hit big! Having played tennis my whole life, I am one of those players who always values a good hitting session. I like to get a solid workout and sweat going on the court and could hit cross-court groundies literally all day. I play several times a week and also coach/teach 3 days a week.
A solid sweat session is always an important part of my day! If I’m not on the court you can find me running, hiking, walking with my pups, Peloton-ing or at the beach! I have struggled with body image issues for as long as I can remember so I work out to find confidence, strength and endorphins through movement. I can be super self-conscious of how clothes fit, feel and look on my body. I enjoy fun patterns and trendy colors, but am also good with basics and realize no one but me will see my sports bra. I'm most comfortable in a pair of athletic shorts and a tank top with a high ponytail and hint of sparkle!

I am a casual, recreational tennis player. I often alternate between several physical activities and enjoy getting out for a hit every now and then. I’m a first time mom getting back into a more consistent workout scene. I typically will look for athletic clothing to have a compression feel to hold me all in during higher intensity workouts. I also love a good pop of color or fun print to pair with a neutral piece, so I can mix and match my whole wardrobe.

I am an occasional, recreational player who simply just loves to get out and play when I can find the time. It’s a great way to get my workout in while having fun with friends! I tend to play a few times a month.
I’m a new mom still trying to find my workout rhythm! I love clothes that I can use for many different activities that are simple in style, flattering, and comfortable. I tend to prefer neutral tones and basic silhouettes that stand the test of time and can be paired with anything.

I like to say I am the best of both worlds. When I am able to be aggressive, I take balls early on the baseline to take time away from my opponent and look to come in. I also can switch gears and be extremely consistent and get every ball back. My goal is to never give my opponent the same ball twice.
I'm a busy mom always on the go! Whether I am out for a run or hike, playing doubles on the tennis court, running errands or wine tasting, I like clothes that are versatile, comfortable but still fashionable and stylish. I love bright neon colors and bold patterns mixed with neutral pieces. I never like to be too matchy-matchy. My favorite colors are lavender, neon yellow and sage green.

I'm no power hitter! I try to run down every ball and make my opponent run just as much. I play recreational singles two or three times a week. I'm a working mom who often finds herself wearing tennis clothes well after the playing is done. I'm looking for comfort and items I can wear to pick up the kids without feeling self-conscious, which means I love a good half-zip top over my tanks. I favor neutral colors and versatile items for my everyday style, but I do like a bright pop of color now and then.
