Top Tennis Warehouse Reviews of 2025

As 2025 winds down, our playtesters look back on the year to share their favorite reviews. Below is a compilation of the most memorable racquets, shoes and strings they tested out during the past 12 months. Plus, for those who love data, we share our top scoring reviews of the year.

TW Playtesters' Favorite Racquet Reviews of 2025

Our Tennis Warehouse playtesters tested more than 40 tennis racquets in 2023, and they picked these as their favorite racquet reviews this year. Racquet reviews last about a month, and typically (but not always!) at least four people are on each playtest.

Babolat Pure Drive 98

It's a Pure Drive, so it comes power-packed, but this Pure Drive 98 also sprinkles in some control. This racquet features the smallest and most precise head size in the Pure Drive family, and the 2025 edition features a tighter 16x20 string pattern for enhanced control. This controlled power was perfect for Michelle, who picked this as her top racquet review of the year.

"I have always loved the Pure Drive and with the new updates including a thinner beam and 16x20 stringbed, this racquet quickly became a favorite of mine thanks to the more controlled feel but still plenty of access to putaway power!" - Michelle

Yonex EZONE 100 2025

Yonex really impressed the playtesters with the eighth generation of the EZONE 100, which earned high marks across the board. Our TW testers were seriously impressed by this update to a beloved racquet, and they reveled in its increased power, comfort and playability. Brittany, who has used this racquet model for years, chose this as her top review for several reasons.

"I may be biased but the EZONE has been my favorite racquet for the last four generations. This 2025 update was easy to transition to and perfectly complemented my aggressive baseliner game style. The racquet offers a great blend of power/control and a connected feel.” - Brittany

Head Gravity MP

This Head Gravity MP, along with the rest of the 2025 Gravity line, caught our eye as one of the best-looking racquets of the year. Of course, that's not the only reason two of our playtesters picked this as their review of the year. With a strung weight around 11 ounces, the racquet is easy enough to swing for intermediate players, and there's power on tap when needed. The focus here, though, is the buttery feel.

"I loved this racquet so much I made it my racquet of choice. It’s an easy racquet to swing and has great combination of power, spin and control. But what really sold this for me was the feel. It has a plush, yet responsive feel to it that I love." - Jason

"I came this close to making the switch from my Prince racquet that I've used since 2015. That's how impressed I was with this Gravity MP! I love the feel, and the balance of power and control is right where I like it. Did I mention the cosmetic?!" - Tiffani

Tecnifibre TFight 305S

Across the board, our playtest team was wowed by this TFight 305S, which earned one of the highest overall scores we've ever seen for a racquet by the Tennis Warehouse scoring metrics. This racquet has high levels of reliability and control, not to mention delightfully fast handling. Our playtesters loved the rock-solid feel at impact (thank you, foam-filled interior) too. Oak picked this updated TFight as his playtest of the year.

"This racquet is one of the best all-around frames I've ever had the joy of playing with, and for me its handling is the crème de la crème considering its weight class and string pattern." - Oak

Head Radical MP 2025

The Radical series has a long history and on the surface, the 2025 edition retains a lot of the what makes the Head Radical MP such a well-loved frame. Overall, our playtesters were pleased by this subtle update to a great all-around frame, and Zsofi was swayed so much that she made the switch to the Radical MP!

"I fell in love with this racquet instantly, and I truly believe it changed my game for the better! Can’t get enough." - Zsofi

Solinco Whiteout 305 XTD 18x20 v2 Camo

The Solinco Whiteout 305 XTD 18x20 v2 Camo situates itself as the only extended-length 18x20 frame currently available through Tennis Warehouse (other than its predecessor)! With this update, our team noted a slightly more comfortable experience due to the revamped internals and also felt like there was more power access. For Troy, that updated feel made this update even better than the original.

"I loved the first version, and this v2 performed just a good but with a bit more plusher feel when striking the ball. I enjoy the cosmetic a bit more as well; I am usually not a huge a camo guy but I felt like this one was executed well, nice and subtle. It is a control and feel type of racquet, but with a little extra boost from the added length. A very unique and solid feeling racquet!" - Troy

TW Playtesters' Favorite Shoe Reviews of 2025

Between our men's and women's playtesting teams, we put more than 30 shoe models to the test in 2025. Our testing is done primarily on hard courts, but if anyone has the chance to play on clay, that's an added bonus!

KSwiss K-Frame Speed

KSwiss came in strong in the back half of 2025 with two very strong offerings that made our playtesters' favorites list. We're starting with the K-Frame Speed, which earned the most votes from the team. K-Swiss designed with Andrey Rublev, and a lot of our playtesters gushed about the performance of these shoes that delivered it all: speed, comfort and support.

"Shoe of the year hands down. One of the comfiest, fastest, and most supportive shoes I've ever had the fortune of wearing." - Oak

"The fit, feel and support I get from this shoe from K-Swiss has made it a go to choice for me. The K-Frame Speed offers excellent traction and tons of support to help me sprint around the court as fast as I can." - Chris

Playtester Zsofi lunging for a forehand volley wearing the K-Frame Speed shoes in green

"I can definitely see why the guys gave this shoe an amazing review, I absolutely feel the same. To me, this was the best shoe of the year, all around amazing, and I will probably get another pair soon." - Zsofi

K-Swiss Hypercourt Pinnacle

Released before the K-Frame Speed, the Hypercourt Pinnacle is another top performing shoe for 2025. This model is available only in men's sizing and impressed our testers with its stability and comfort. Toe draggers should take note, however, that the uppers might wear out quickly.

"This was a close race between this shoe and another KSwiss shoe, the K-Frame Speed. But what I loved more about this shoe was the underfoot cushioning. This is a great shoe that just does everything well at a high level." - Jason

Wilson Intrigue Tour

Now it's time for a women's specific model. Wilson upped the shoe game with the introduction of the Intrigue Tour. It's style, comfort and overall performance won over our playtesters, and two of the women chose this new model as their favorite shoe of the year.

"These shoes were just so comfortable but also really supportive, stable and they felt fast. Plus, they look great so I could wear them all day long. I appreciate the minimal logos and all the color options!" - Michelle

“This was my shoe of the year and all-time favorite Wilson shoe. I chose to wear these shoes in some tennis tournament, that is how much I trusted them. Not only are they super stylish, but they are also high- performing specifically in the areas of comfort and support/stability.” - Brittany

New Balance CT Rally 2

Built for comfort, durability and stability, the New Balance CT Rally 2 earned the votes of two of our playtesters for best shoes of 2025. New Balance loads these shoes with Fresh Foam X cushioning and offers a durability guarantee on the outsoles. Both of these features scored highly with Troy and Mark.

"New Balance CT Rally 2, hands down. I am always looking for more cushioning since I play on hard courts, and I feel like most tennis shoes that we sell are pretty minimal, especially in the forefoot. These CT Rally 2s give the cushioining I am looking for, nice and plush, while also having good support and stability." - Troy

"The overall performance and fit of the CT Rally 2 is nearly ideal for my foot type, and I also liked the low-key all business look of this shoe. As fond as I am of the aesthetic I appreciate the level of comfort and support even more. In addition the padded tongue adds a nice touch of comfort, and it is easy to achieve a custom fit using the lacing system." - Mark

adidas Avaluxe

The Avaluxe isn't new, per se, but it has a new name. These shoes were last known as the Stella Courts, and they have been longtime favorites of the TW women's playtesters and customers alike. Their overall comfort, stability and clean styling have earned the Avaluxe shoes a loyal following and Tiffani's vote for shoe playtest of the year.

"No matter the name, these shoes have been among my favorites for years. The Avaluxe has been known as the Stella Barricade and Stella Court, but the fit and feel remains the same. These shoes have broad appeal for their style and overall comfort." - Tiffani

TW Playtesters' Favorite String Reviews of 2025

This year, newcomers to the string offerings at Tennis Warehouse really caught the attention of our playtesters. Strings from both TOROLINE and Grapplesnake were among the favorite string reviews of the year. Although not officially reviewed this year, Solinco's Hyper-Mach BD Hybrid gets a shoutout for favorite new string.

TOROLINE O-TORO Tour

The Tour version is the firmest option in the O-TORO line-up. With this firmer build and six sharp edges, O-TORO tour gives the kind of control that lets big hitters attack the ball without thinking twice. Michelle and Troy enjoyed it on its own in a full bed as their string review of the year.

"I love O-TORO TOUR for its control and feel as well as its durability; and the color is super fun!" - Michelle

"My favorite on that I actually reviewed would be TOROLINE O-TORO Tour. Nice and crisp feeling poly, good control, and easy access to spin. That said, my favorite 2025 string, although I didn't actually review it, was the Solinco Hyper-Mach BD Hybrid. The Hyper-G Round in the crosses is a nice compliment to the Mach-10 in the mains. A more powerful and spin-friendly poly in the mains, with a more control oriented round poly in the crosses. It's like a chef's kiss!" - Troy

Grapplesnake Alpha

Grapplesnake is new to the Tennis Warehouse string lineup, but its strings are impressing the playtesters. Alpha was the only string the team was able to put to the official test in 2025, and it got the nod from Oak as his favorite string playtest of the year. Alpha sets itself apart from other polys on the market with its soft feel and playability across a wide variety of skill levels.

"Perhaps the most accessible polyester string option I've tried. Works very well in a variety of frames, it's soft without feeling mushy, and it maintains its excellent feel throughout its lifespan." - Oak

Top Scoring TW String Reviews of 2025

Here are the top 5 scoring string reviews of 2025. We playtested nine strings this year. Scores are out of 10.

  2. Grapplesnake Alpha - 8.9
  3. MSV Focus-Hex Soft - 8.7
  4. Luxilon ECO Spin - 8.7
