Inspired by the strongest and most inspirational woman in his life, Dr. Alex Boafo founded La Constance Tennis Center in 2014 in Akropong, Ghana naming it after his mother, Constance. Created to share the legacy of his mom all while sharing the love for his favorite sport of tennis. Having raised 9 children on her own, Constance always encouraged her kids to dream big and in doing so she raised successful, smart children who are now making a difference in the lives of many. The La Constance Tennis Program continues to introduce many children to a sport they would otherwise know nothing about and keeps them off the street and into organized instruction.

With a single court to share amongst many kids, the coaches not only teach the sport of tennis but also help the kids with their school work and enhance their chances to enter Universities. With your help and donations, this program can continue to grow and make an impact on the yough in Akropong.

The mission of La Constance is to use the sport of tennis as a medium to teach discipline, education and sport to advance the course of the youth which is also executed through education, social interaction, advocacy.

• establish a sound basis of tennis by coaching the kids on the right techniques and rules of the sport
• set up a monitoring system to evaluate the standards of play and encourage the progression of the kids to advance
• encourage academic progress by establishing teaching programs to enhance the school work of participants and ensure the kids get into University
• establish a scholarship program where successful kids going to the SSS and JSS systems get financial support to enable them further their education
• engage in fundraising activities that will ensure sustainability and growth of the program
• establish partnerships with other Tennis Clubs and Academies to broaden the scope and outlook and increase it’s exposure
• establish broad evaluation and monitoring guidelines to ensure the efficiency
