Best Straight Skirt: New Balance Tournament Skirt

Straight or A-line skirts give off a very sporty vibe. This simple silhouette provides plenty of comfort on the court, and it can be styled to fit your mood. For a more athletic style, pair it with a racerback tank or cap sleeve top, or go more court preppy with a collared shirt. We love this New Balance skirt for its balance of form and function. Its no-fuss style is easy to style and doesn't get in the way while playing on court.
Honorable Mention: Sofibella UV Solid Skirt
The Sofibella UV Solid Skirt is a staff favorite because it comes two lengths, is available in an array of colors and has a pleated detail in the back. The front of the skirt is a clean, sporty look, while the pleat in the back offers a bit of a more forgiving fit and feel.
Best Pleated Skirt: Wilson Midtown Skirt

There's something quintessentially tennis about a pleated skirt, and the Wilson Midtown Skirt is a perfect example of how to keep it classic yet modernize it at the same time. In our how to choose a tennis skirt article, we explain that woven materials are best for pleated skirts because they retain their pleats well, and this Wilson skirt gets that right. What helps set this Midtown Skirt apart is its high rise ribbed waistband. It's comfortable and flattering. Plus it's the perfect rise to match with today's midi tops and crops. There's even a version with full-length leggings for those colder days.
Honorable Mention: adidas Club Pleat Skirt
The 2025 edition of the adidas Club Pleat Skirt is a winner! The updated waistband is flattering and fits well. The price is nice too!
Best Flouncy Skirt: Nike Advantage Ace Skirt

If you're looking for a skirt that's flowy and has just a hint of "twirl" factor, you should check out flouncy skirts. Our current favorite is the Nike Advantage Ace Skirt. This skirt is a winner for us because of how it fits. The waistband sits flush to your waist and has a premium feel, and the inner shortie is very comfortable plus has drop-in pockets. The 2025 version of this skirt has an updated fabric that has great stretch. We also appreciate that this skirt comes in two lengths.
Honorable Mention: adidas Club Skirt
The adidas Club Skirt drapes nicely for an easy fit and feel. Like adidas' pleated version, this Club Skirt is updated for 2025. This new version has tonal logos for easy mix-and-match and a breathable mesh fabric.
Best Long Tennis Skirt: InPhorm Classic Skirt 15.5"

Although most tennis skirts fall somewhere in the 12- to 14-inch range, some players will be looking for something longer. To find the longest skirts at Tennis Warehouse, be sure to filter skirts by length and select longer than 15 inches. We've picked the InPhorm Classic Skirt in the 15.5-inch length (measured in a size small) as our favorite long skirt. The mesh trim at the hem and asymmetrical flounce are flattering. You can get this skirt in all the core colors for tennis: black, white or midnight navy.
Honorable Mention: Travis Mathew
Travis Mathew is relatively new to making women's clothing, getting its start in the men's market. We like the versatility of Travis Mathew's skirts. They're a bit longer so easy to wear on and off the court, and a lot of the styles also have pockets.
Best Tiered Skirt: Lucky in Love Scallop Skirt

Lucky in Love knows how to keep tennis skirts fun! We've picked their core scallop skirt as our favorite tiered or layered skirt. The essential colors have been in the line for years and are perennial favorites, but the look does come in a variety of seasonal prints. You can also get them with built-in capri-length tights. What helps to set this skirt apart is that there is mesh underneath the layers to help keep the skirt feeling lightweight despite all the layers.
Honorable Mention: LIJA Match Skirt
The LIJA Match Skirt is another longtime favorite. The fabric feels so soft, and we love that this version of the layered skirt has a bit of ruffle to it. This skirt is available in your essential colors along with seasonal solids. The Match Skirt is a bit longer than our Lucky in Love pick for a bit more coverage.
Best Ball Storage: ON'RE Tennis Pleat Skirt
The most common way players store extra balls is to tuck them under the hem of the inner tight of a skirt. Other skirts might have ball pockets on the tight, but for players who would rather not have the ball against their leg, ON'RE offers quick, easy storage in the waistband. The ball pockets at the back waist can store up to four tennis balls.
