Spin-friendly Precision. Easy Power. Great Feel

Introducing the Shift Pro! With this racquet Wilson releases the official cosmetic version of the Wilson Labs Project Shift 99 315, a prototype released in February of 2023. Featuring a 99 square inch head and a surgical 18x20 string pattern, the Shift 99 Pro packs enough weight to comfortably redirect higher levels of pace while also offering plenty of pop to those who can leverage its mass. Despite having a tight pattern, the Shift Pro has impressive spin-potential, making it easier to control shot trajectory from the baseline and at net. As with the lighter Shift 99, this racquet's graphite fibers have been engineered to help the frame bend in ways that compliment the explosive mechanics of the modern game. Ultimately, the Shift 99 Pro not only delivers a comfortable feel with great ball feedback, it also packs enough precision and power to keep your opponent in check.

Technical Note: According to Wilson, this racquet has been designed to be torsionally stiff (for added stability and power when driving the ball) and laterally flexible (for increased dwell time on vertical  mechanics - think spin).

ShiftyI like it, hits good. I'm a smaller and older man but I can swing the racquet with an average stroke and the ball responds nicely.

Stable and preciseI really liked the racquet. Changed from Clash v1 and really liked it. It is better in every aspect and has more power and spin.

Wilson Shift 99 ProThe first day using my new racquet I was hitting powerful deep returns. I love the power and control.

GooodI noticed that each two closest cross strings aren't placed in parallel to each other but in slightly different angles. Never seen that before, but just spotted it also the other day in the Head Gravity racquets. Not sure though which brand introduced this earlier and whether the Gravity plays similar to the Shift. Nice solid racquet with a nifty funky look. Sometimes it plays really well and everything lands in, but sometimes really average and everything lands out or in the net which probably depends on the strings & the string job.

Just demoed one setI am a Blade v6 user and demoed this racquet for one set. My impression was that this racquet is closer to tweener racquet: powerful, head light, and thick beam. Just don’t assume this racquet is magically positioned between Blade and Clash.

The real dealIf I remember I'll follow up with more detail. But I've now tried both demos (prototype and this} and after trying this demo I have purchased one racket. I'm currently playing with ProStaff 97's V13 and have also been trying out the Blade Pro. There is no doubt that the shift gives you more spin than other rackets. I played doubles this last weekend and I had quite a few kick serves that bounced so unexpectedly high they were unreturnable and my opponents were commenting on it. I also had a few topspin forehands that opponents expected to go long and unexpectedly dropped in. This alone is pretty cool but I feel like the racket is also a bit more forgiving than I'm used to and so these two traits led me to buy one. I'm an old guy who's currently a 4.0 to 4.5 and prefer to end points at the net.

Beautiful lookWithout having tried it because I’m waiting for the demo, I do have to say it’s nice that Wilson abandoned that ugly logo scribbled across their frames.
