Overview

Introducing the Pro Staff Six.One 100 v14! With this racquet Wilson adds another chapter to the Six.One legend. Like the previous generation, this racquet will appeal to intermediate and advanced players who crave controllable power and great feel. In addition to an open 16x19 string pattern, this racquet not only comes around fast but it also has enough mass to redirect higher levels of pace. For 2023 Wilson brings back that classic Pro Staff feel with Paradigm Bending, a layup technology that optimizes the flex between hoop and shaft. This racquet also has FORTYFIVE technology, which strategically aligns the graphite fibers at a 45 degree angle to increase lateral bending through impact. With some nice updates to the feel, the Pro Staff Six.One continues to be a great option for intermediate and advanced players who want a versatile player's racquet with controllable power and great feel.

Replaced Blade SW 102Depending on the day I'm anywhere from a 3.5 to a 4.5 level. People tell me I'm a hard hitter. I couldn't keep using the SW 102 because I just started hitting everything long. And I had no touch whatsoever with that racquet. The SW 102 has more of a cushy feel and it didn't need a dampener in the strings. I got this 6.1 on Black Friday so I've only used it a few times so far. My first impressions are 1) I actually really like the color (which changes depending on the lighting). It's more deep red than rusty orange like in the pictures. I loathed that they switched from black, but I ended up really liking the almost candy apple red color. 2) It feels way more rigid, like I'm hitting with a plank of wood, than the SW102 (strung at 57lbs with Babolat RPM). I got the 6.1 delivered with 54lbs and RPM, but it definitely needs a dampener in the strings that I didn't need with the Blade. I will probably go down to 50lbs next time I get it strung. 3) My touch has finally returned. I had no ability to hit a decent drop shot or slice with the blade 102, ever, but with this 6.1, I'm a complete menace to other players with the drop shots and slices. 4) The power is decent. I don't seem to have the same issue of sending everything long like I did with the Blade. 5) I don't seem to have nearly the same serve power, and I usually depend on free points from my serve, but maybe that is something I'm still getting the feel for with this and could be the result of getting a 4 & 1/2 grip instead of the 4 & 1/8 grip on the SW102 that I put two over grips on with some thin cardboard in cause I accidentally bought a tiny handle one. I may add a little weight at 10 and 2 after a few more rounds. I didn't demo any rackets before buying this. Just an impulse buy.
