Classic control and feel meets modern speed and spin

Prince adds another chapter to the Phantom 100X 305g! Like the previous generation, this racquet is defined by its controllable power and buttery feel. At 11.4 ounces strung and boasting a 320 swingweight, this racquet is not only ideal for strong intermediate players, but it will also tempt the advanced ball striker who is in the market for speed. In addition to the buttery feel of its 59-RA stiffness, the 100x 305 has an open 16x18 string pattern, giving it the kind of spin-friendly precision that makes it easy to target the lines. Technologies include Prince's Anti-Torque System, which is located at 10 & 2 in the head and combines Textreme with Zylon, a synthetic polymer added in 2024 to further enhance stability without compromising maneuverability. Prince also combines Zylon and Textreme in the shaft to further enhance stability and optimize feel. The Phantom also benefits from a CTS beam construction, which features an ultra thin shaft for feel along with thicker cross sections in the head for stability and power. Ultimately, this is a great option for intermediate and advanced players who want a speedy and spin-friendly racquet with outstanding feel.

Great Control RacquetI had been playing with Prince Tour Diablo 93 sq in racquet for 20 years with a weight of 352-355 g (12.5oz) and swing weight of 340-350. I felt that I needed to shed some weight for my arm's sake and demoed this along with Prince Tour ATS 98 and 100P. I liked this the most. It has great feel and flex. It has excellent spin too (coming from a 16x20 string pattern). I added 4.5g tungsten tape at 10 & 2 and 9g flexible derby-car weight tape in the handle and it plays great. I'm a NTRP 5.0 SHBH all-court player. Tennis Warehouse matched my racquets and my racquet set is very close in specs and it made balancing easier. They also sent a hand-written card which was really nice - thanks TW team.

Prince Phantom 100x 305I have the older version and like the balance and weight better than this version. This feels lighter and has less ‘plow through’. Will need to take it to my stringer to customize to my older set of racquets. Love the protection the Phantoms give with head light and low racquet stiffness. So, overall it’s a 5/5 but this version goes down a star to 4/5.

Demoed 5 rackets - clear winnerComing from a stiff babalot I struggled with strong hits/serves overpowering the racquet, especially when playing at the net. I've really enjoyed the flexibility and feel of this prince racquet. The low power allows me to hit hard and keep it in the court.

A crisper PhantomI was using the Phantom Pro 100 and then the 100x, so this racquet feels familiar. Comfortable, good control, feels great on volleys. The main difference from the previous model is that it's a little "crisper." It's still got a flexy feel, but just not quite as buttery. Related to that, the 2024 version has a tiny bit more pop. I had a small amount of lead (2g total) in the hoop of the 2020 version, and the green racquet has the same power in stock form. All in all, I am really enjoying this racquet. I wouldn't necessarily say it's better or worse than the previous version. They're very similar in how they play, but with slightly different feels. And while not important to playability, the color and design look great. Favorite shots with this racquet: serve, volley, slice

Fantastic all around. 5.0 1HBH and E/SW FHI play an aggressive, baseline style and mix in some chip and charge and serve and volley every once in a while. I have a soft semi western forehand that’s my main weapon and this thing is really nice for that. I love the perfect hybrid of an old-school thin beam and a modern thicker beam. I played with the Prince 93P phantom and loved that thing so much but it was a bit heavy at 330 g for my play style during the second and third sets. This is a really nice evolution of that. Eventually would be pretty awesome to see a 98 in.² version of this frame at the same weight or close to it just to trim a little bit of the fat and make it whip through the air even faster. But even still, I’d probably keep playing this racquet as is. The serve is fantastic and the volleys.

If your elbow hurts, you may need thisThis is one of the two best racquets for comfort while still allowing you to play your game. The other is the Clash 100. But warning! You will need to drastically alter your string setup! This is the lowest powered stick I ever had in my hand! Wow. I restrung it four times in a week. Maybe Ask AI for suggestions, but don't blame it on the racquet if you hate it at first. Maybe try gut or Head Velocity MLT. Poly in this is just dead. But it is so soft that you can get by with poly. But you probably won't be happy. Now you can play more often without pain.

Great frame but inconsistent specsI bought two of these. I have a long experience with Prince racquets going back to the Prince Pro and the original Graphite as a teenager. I have gone through many generations of Prince frames over 40 years. I appreciate the fact that they still make 5/8 grips and try to produce elbow-friendly racquets. Regarding the Phantom 305X, I think it's an excellent frame. I'm not a fan of the "prepper" cosmetics, but the racquet has a sweet feel and is well-engineered. Despite its flexibility, it's not anemic at all. I liked the first one so much that I purchased a second one a week later. The second specimen is a full 12 grams lighter than the first and the balance is off by 2 full centimeters! (strung with the same string and with the same overgrip, one is 335 grams and the other 322). I'm not one to complain about TW and I have bought over 100 frames from them, but there is obviously a quality control issue here.

Prince Phantom racquetMy grandson, Sawyer, loves his new racquet. He plays on the East H.S. Varsity tennis team and loves the feel and power of the Prince Phantom. The East team has started having informal matches at Nielsen Tennis stadium ( the University of Wisconsin Indoor facility) on the weekends. Coaches can watch the play, but not coach; coaching is prohibited by WIAA rules. So Sawyer has had the opportunity to test the racquet in actual play for the past 3 weeks and he really likes it.

Even better than the previous versionI absolutely love this racquet. As a massive fan of its previous 2020 version, I adore this one even more. It's slightly softer and offers better control. While many reviews mention that the racquet could be more powerful and could have a larger sweet spot, these are not issues for me. I use soft strings like Triax or Multifeel to save my arm. These strings are powerful and can slightly enlarge the sweet spot, making the racquet just right for me.

Great Racquet for My SonMy son had the older version of this racquet for quite some time and wanted a second to replace it. He’s been happy with it and the customer service was outstanding.

Not for me, but has potentialWas a part of a playtest for this and was super excited to try it. Sadly this racquet is not for me. I will start with the positives. The racquet felt comfortable for the most part and I really like to slice and hit volleys with it. I felt connected and in control of them and I felt like I could direct them wherever I wanted. That is sadly really all I liked. On groundies and serve, I didn’t feel that same connection to the ball as on slices and volleys. I couldn’t gauge the depth on the ball and the amount of spin on it as I am with my usual frame and string setup (Yonex Ezone 98 and Hyper-G). I felt like I had to over swing to get close to the same quality of ball I wanted. I can see how this racquet is great for some people but it just wasn’t for me.

Phantom 100X (305) & 100PI was deciding between the 100X (305) and 100P racquets, which are very similar. Although I ended up going with the 100P, I loved the crisp, comfortable response of the 100X. Here's a video review that I posted on my channel . . . I hope this is allowed :)! https://youtu.be/Xwgjk54gLQM

Control spin and comfort; Phantom has it allTransitioning from the Yonex Vcore 95 2021, always wanted something softer and a little bit more forgiving. I'm astounded by how much I prefer the new Phantom 100X. Despite its 100 sq. in. head size, the Phantom 100X offers exceptional control on groundstrokes, rivaling racquets with smaller heads. Its RA rating is comparable to the Wilson Clash, but the thin beam and 16x18 string pattern ensure ample spin, making sure your shots landing in. This combination also enhances defensive play, making it easier to handle fast-paced shots or hit on the rise. The flexible frame absorbs off-center hits well, significantly reducing arm strain. Serving requires a slight timing adjustment for flat serves if you're used to stiffer frames (such as Vcore 95). However, slice and kick serves feel effortless. I highly recommend this racquet to all-court players rated 4.0 and above who generate their own pace and prioritize control, spin, and arm comfort. It's definitely worth trying.

A solid racquet with great potentialThere is a sweet spot at the center of string bed, not very big, but truly sweet when the ball hits that location. The racquet felt solid and the ball flies back with easy effort. When the ball hits anywhere else, I immediately feel the torque. I ended up customizing the racquet by adding total of 16 inch of lead tape, 8 on the beam and 8 at the butt. The racquet turned into a beast. The best feature of this racquet is slicing. The balls are floating with pace. The second best feature to me is serve. I am able to place the ball exactly where I want it to be, great control. It is not a powerful racquet, but if placement is something you are looking for, this racquet will help. In general, if you know your preference, you can easily transform this racquet to your liking.

I love this racquetI have the Prince Beast 100 (2023) Japan release and the Prince Tour 98 (2023) Japan release. The first has an amazing serve and powerful groundstrokes, while the latter excels in touch, comfort, control, and an average net game. Both have good spin with the first having slightly more. So where am I going with this? The Prince Phantom 100X 2024 is a combination of both. It's a jack of all trades but above average in every aspect. It excels the most in touch and control and stability at the net. Serves feel fast and it cuts through the air well. The sweet spot is smaller than most prince rackets I've used so it's a bit less forgiving BUT, it's still pretty amazing. Will probably buy a second in the future.
