Overview
With some subtle updates, KSwiss updates the sleek Ultrashot to the Ultrashot 2. With this update, KSwiss has kept the previous version's winning formula of comfort mixed with stability, but made the tongue more padded and added Surgelite,a lighter midsole that allows players to spring around the court with explosive accuracy while remaining locked in and stable. Don't worry about temperature control, as the Ortholite X-40 sock liner will keep player's feet cool with its breathability. The durable Aosta rubber outsole in a modified herringbone pattern comes with a 6-month outsole guarantee and provides good traction on all court surfaces. All in all, the emphasis on cushion and speed is ideal for competitive players looking to gain an edge on court.
- Upper: Mesh and synthetic materials combine with Durawrap X PU for comfort, support and durability. DragGuard material in high wear areas for added durability.
- Midsole: Ortholite X-40 sockliner provides moisture management and ventilation. Surgelight midsole helps keep the feet in place to add stability on quick movements.
- Outsole: Aosta 7.0 high-density rubber outsole in a modified herringbone pattern provides durability and traction on any court surface. Backed by a 6-month outsole durability guarantee.

Comments: I bought these about three months ago, and was very much reminded of the old adidas Barricade models from ten years or so ago. That's a good thing, as I really liked the shoes. Was very happy with these for about two months. Was surprised I wore through the outsole in those two months, which seemed quick to wear them out. Looking at the details of what is required to return them under warranty, they seem to require the shoes literally have a hole in them. I've still been playing in them the last month, and they are much too worn out to be playable and comfortable. I don't want to send them back and waste my time if they reject the claim, but it seems their requirement for level of wear may be unreasonable. I've never kept a pair of shoes close to this worn out before sending them back. Guess I like the shoes, but feel it wears out pretty quick, and may question the KSwiss requirement to replace.

Comments: These shoes took an hour to break-in. After that, it rides like an Asics Gel Resolution 8. I was very happy with my purchase. However, the outsole has worn out after only two months of use, five to six hours a week. I am sending them back for a warranty claim.

Comments: Very comfortable and good shoes coming from adidas Barricades. I have slightly wide feet and use orthotic insoles so I always go half a size up. That wasn't necessary for these shoes and I probably could have gotten away with my normal size. With the 21% clearance these are great shoes for the price.

Comments: I have only been wearing KSwiss exclusively now for about two years. They are not light shoes, and ventilation is not that good, but they absorb shock better than any other brand. Because they lack ventilation, they are perfect for late fall, winter, and early spring. I simply take them off when I get home during the summer. The fit is perfect for my feet, outsole is solid, and traction is very good. These shoes cost about $48 more online at other stores compared to TW after the 21% reduction, so I'm ordering another pair today.

Comments: The cons are the tongue is sufficient, but thinner than it looks, once you lace up, it flattens pretty easily. Heel cup material and stitching seems odd and poorly designed, it wrinkles and is sort of loose, and you can feel the folds through your socks, and when you drag your finger going down, it's smooth, but drag your finger going up, it is very rough causing unnecessary friction that I imagine would wear out itself and whatever socks you wear faster than other shoes. The tongue and heel cup in the KSwiss Supreme shoes feel fantastic. Not sure why they are worse in the more expensive Ultrashot shoes. These are supposed to be a plush and comfortable shoes but they seemed rather stiff overall. Jumping on my toes felt hard, and the heel provided little bounce, they felt more like the comfort of lightweight shoes than the heavy shoes these are, though I imagine they might become more comfortable after some break-in. The pros are that they have good side to side support. I always test how easy it is to walk on the outside edge of my feet in shoes to see if my ankle might roll, and it's hard to do in these. 6-month guarantee is nice as the price they go at, especially. On sale, and they are probably one of the most supportive shoes at sale price point. They do fit a bit wide like most KSwiss shoes, but they are just a little narrower than some other models like the Supreme shoes, or at least my pinky toe felt a little curled in, I am wide 2E for some brands but not wide enough for 2E KSwiss. I really wanted these shoes to be the ones for me, but there were just too many oddities for me to want to keep them.

Comments: Worst shoes ever. Stiff, heavy, and tight in the wrong places. I almost rolled over my ankle going for a wide serve the first time I used it because they were so stiff. I thought maybe they needed a break-in period, but after nine sets they were just as stiff and clunky. I normally wear adidas SoleCourt or Wilson Rush Pro shoes. Wilson shoes are comfortable, but the outsoles don't last too long. Adidas shoes are inconsistent from one version to the next. Neither though were available in my size, so thought I'd try the KSwiss. Thank you Tennis Warehouse for taking these back. Will buy different shoes.

Comments: First time buying KSwiss shoes and a very sad experience for me. The fit of the shoes is not as mentioned, there is no extra room in the forefoot region also the length is slightly less in my opinion. My toe hurts badly even though I ordered the same size 9 as my previous shoes, also I measured my foot. Never had toe jamming issues in any other shoes. I can't even wear them off court so they break in and maybe then I can find some comfort. Build quality and outsole seems quite good, but I doubt I'll get to enjoy these shoes. My advice for anyone looking to try these shoe is order half a size up and try them indoors so you can return them if you don't like them.

Comments: I have owned several pairs of KSwiss tennis shoes and have appreciated how comfortable they have been. Comfort was my issue when I purchased these shoes. I expected that they would be comfortable like my last pair, they are not. They are heavy, clunky, and stiff. I will wear these shoes and hope they break in somewhat, but I don't expect to keep them very long.

Comments: I bought them and returned them, too tight, and I felt as if I'm stepping in the mud. Bar-none the best shoes ever made are KSwiss Big Shot shoes.

Comments: Excellent shoes for those with slightly wide feet, wider than a D width, but less wide than a 2E width. They also seem fairly durable with little wear after about a month of play. I do notice they have slightly worse traction than my old New Balance 806 shoes; I have slipped a little bit more since switching. But the much better fit, resulting in less small toe crunching, durability, and nice looks makes them an easy choice. They've also been on sale frequently. I've gotten three pairs for around $60. Note that the shoes require a little break-in to be comfortable. I am a 4-4.5 level singles player from Raleigh-Durham area.

Comments: I wear a size 10 medium shoe and have flat feet. The Ultrashot 2 shoes fit my feet perfectly, with ample room in the forefoot, and no excessive rubbing or pinching. The support is excellent without being clunky. I feel the support is even better than the Asics Gel Resolution shoes that I've been wearing for the last few years. I can't speak to the breathability of these shoes since it hasn't gotten hot enough to evaluate that parameter. One small issue with the black colorway is if you use it on clay, the shoes take on a whiteish cast quickly. A good brushing is necessary to restore the dark black of the original color. I think these make a great replacement for shoes like the adidas Barricades and for Gel Resolution users who want just a bit more support and a nice herringbone sole pattern.

Comments: Comfortable, quick, stable, and lots of protection underfoot. My new favorites. I am a 4.5 level male playing singles five days a week.
From: WS, 5/8/20
Comments: Great shoes, they have a relatively wide toe box with a firm arch, and are comfortable out of the box. These shoes quickly break-in, and seem to soften up after the break-in. There is enough support over the life of the shoes, although they become more slipper-like as they age, soft with slightly waning support. Overall they are a great value.
From: Anonymous, 5/7/20
Comments: This is a great shoe that has almost the same durability and stability of Asics, but with lighter weight. It could be considered a tournament shoe if you love Asics but want some extra speed for tournament matches.

Comments: I ask a lot of my tennis sneakers as I usually wear one pair for work as a mechanic and another pair for tennis. When the work pair wear out, I get a new pair for tennis and demote the older tennis pair to work duty. I found that standing and walking on concrete all day is very hard on my feet, so I was looking for a well-cushioned shoe. These are cushioned, but the cushioning is optimized for tennis movements as opposed to standing and walking on concrete. It feels like there is more cushioning in the forefoot than the heel, and you feel the cushioning when moving, not so much when standing. The arches are low. The heel drop is low. The soles feel like they will hold up well. The toe of the shoe is a little more pointed than I need it to be, but I have no issues with width or toe jamming. I guess I'll just have to switch my gel work insoles into these if I want to wear them for work. For tennis only they would be great. Coming from slightly too narrow adidas Barricade Club, size 8.5. I bought size 9.0 KSwiss. Thanks for the recommendation, TW.

Comments: Former teaching pro. Now retired. Sponsored by Prince for years.Since selling my tennis business a few years back, sponsorship went out the door. Wore KSwiss in college, so I thought I would give them another try. Love them, they are reasonably comfortable. Wear looks to be holding up. I will probably buy another pair.

Comments: I've tried many shoes and I really appreciate Tennis Warehouse is policy for experimenting with new shoes. These have been perfect for me. They provide excellent support and cushion. They have sufficient width. I use a custom orthotic and it fits perfectly. I'm working through some plantar and achilles pain and after wearing the shoes the pain is minimized. It also helps that style and colors are pleasing. After testing over 20 shoes, I found a winner.

Comments: Really big fan of these shoes. I have slightly wide feet, but 2E shoes are just a tad big for me. So I look for shoes with a little more room and read that this was one of them. They're my first K-Swiss shoes I bought since the '90s and they fit me great out of the box. I used them throughout 2019 and found them to be pretty durable, I play about six hours a week. The traction and support seem to work perfectly for me to. Shoes are very personal so not everyone will be a fan. My feet do not sweat too much, so ventilation was not an issue. Only thing to note is that they are a little noisy and squeaky on court, not a dealbreaker for me.

Comments: I've been a long time K-Swiss shoe wearer, and this shoe has been the best. Great cushioning and traction. Will order another pair soon.
From: Bill, 1/27/20
Comments: I really like these shoes. I've owned many shoes with an outsole guarantee. The Ultrashot 2 is probably the most comfortable pair of shoes that I've worn. Comfortable when I first put them on and still comfortable at the end of their life as I finally tore through the outsole completely. I never needed to use another insole, which is rare for me. I know TW may take care of it for people who buy from here, but K-Swiss has a great process for the warranty claim and handled everything in one day. My new pair is on the way and cost me less than $6 for shipping and tax. K-Swiss has set the bar high for a streamlined outsole warranty process, and I will keep buying K-Swiss shoes as long as they are as good as these.
From: Chad, 1/14/20
Comments: I bought these and they seem heavier than past K-Swiss shoes. However, they are comfortable and the price was right at $85. They are not a very good looking shoe in my opinion.
From: John, 12/22/19
Comments: Best six-month warranty shoe available for the price. Durability is okay, but too much rubber on outsole. Needs more plastic for longevity and sliding.
From: Andrew, 12/16/19
Comments: I have twin 14 year old boys. They play every day. We purchased these and a pair of Asics. The Asics have lasted much better then the K-Swiss. I think they have a much better constructed sole. The top have worn fine on both. They have a six month warranty on both, which is great, but he went through these in about a month. I would have expected them to last longer.
From: Garrett, 12/6/19
Comments: Good looking shoe that, for me, is unwearable. I have high arches, and these shoes, even unlaced, are way too tight over the tops of my feet.
From: Don, 11/29/19
Comments: Purchased these based on the favorable playtester and customer reviews. What a huge disappointment. I found them to be stiff and the least cushioned K- Swiss model I've ever owned. Outside of looking cool, K-Swiss really missed the mark on these in my opinion. I fail to see what impressed the TW playtesters about this model.
From: Brett, 11/6/19
Comments: I wore them around the house for 15 minutes and experienced some discomfort, but figured they just needed to be broken in. After walking in them for an hour, I don't even want to try them out on a tennis court. The high top pinches my ankles, tighter on the toe than expected, and they got scuffed up so quickly I'm sure I can't return them.
From: Roman, 10/13/19
Comments: This is my first K-Swiss shoe and to me this shoe feels almost identical to the Nike Vapor 9.5, but with better performance and durability. Compared to the discontinued Vapor 9.5, there is slightly more forefoot cushioning, arch support, and more durability in the upper with no mesh. The stability feels good and I would recommend lacing all the way to the top for maximum ankle support. I'm very happy with my purchase and I've been looking for a shoe with this type of fit that I'm already accustomed to wearing on the courts.
From: Chris, 9/20/19
Comments: I have been looking for shoes that will be comfortable, stable, and can fit my feet with ankle support. This is the best so far. I tried different Nike and Asics, they were a no-go. The K-Swiss Ultrashot 2 shoes are very comfortable and require no break-in time. They provide good ankle support.
From: Alex, 9/18/19
Comments: This shoe is extremely comfortable! Not quite as wide as the Hypercourt but it feels more like a premium, players type shoe.
From: Andrew, 9/12/19
Comments: Great shoe. But the sizes run small. Best to order half a size larger than normal.
From: Timothy, 7/19/19
Comments: Excellent shoe! I was a huge fan of the original Ultrashot, so I was very excited to give the new one a try. After over 7 hours on court I can confidently say that the Ultrashot 2 surpasses the original even though the changes are minor. The most noticeable update is the significantly more padded tongue which was my biggest gripe with the original Ultrashot. The shoe is also a tiny bit lighter but still retains the excellent stability from the original shoe. Most importantly, the shoe retains its excellent wearability right out of the box. With most shoes I'll at least have some minor discomfort, but none at all here. Great job K- Swiss.

Comments: 47 year old 4.0, aggressive baseliner, I prefer hardcourt playing, and quick movements. These shoes grip amazingly well, and show zero signs of wear after the first play. Break-in is Slight, and I wore them around the house before playing in the evening - they were perfect right out of the box! You don't even notice the weight, and these are several ounces heavier than my previous Bigshots. I burned through three pairs of K-Swiss Bigshots last year (toe-dragger) and decided to go back to shoes with a 6-month guarantee. I play an average of 3 times a week. I have a med-wide foot, with medium-high arch (D) and K-Swiss fit me well. Sizes are dead on. I order half a size up, and use Superfeet green inserts with the included K-Swiss insoles, and the Ultrashot 2 fit like a glove. Literally like wearing pillows on my feet. Not tight spots, no toe-jamming, no binding. I do use the rear eyelet to lock my heel down in the chassis. My only knock, is that I would have liked more than two choices of color, and all white doesn't count. Many reviews say this shoe is warm, but I don't notice any more or less ventilation than the Bigshots, and I'll take more stability and durability over thin mesh and an airy platform any day on the hard courts. My feet say thank you! I'll continue to buy K-Swiss as long as they don't change the formula that works so well for them: wide forefront, outstanding traction/durability, 6 month warranty, Ultra Comfort/Cushioning, and unbeatable stability.
