Overview

Tecnifibre ATP Razor Code 16 is a firm and durable co-poly that rewards full cuts with pinpoint accuracy. Our TW playtesters found this one to provide remarkable precision and very easy access to spin. Unlike traditional polyester strings, ATP Razor Code is built with special additives to improve feel. In addition to being a great option for the advanced player, this one has enough all-around playability for the strong intermediate who wants to make the transition to a firmer control string.

Nice feelI love this string. For some reason the blue color is a bit softer than the white color, but it's not as soft as the razor soft, which is too soft for me. It gives me some added control with topspin and drop shots. I used a combination for a while but I was breaking the gut strings every few weeks. I started using all poly but couldn't seem to find one that worked with me.I started using this string after I came back after a tennis elbow injury, and have been playing injury free ever since.

Comments: Ball pocketing is great. Feel is better than Luxilon. Used Black Widow because of the $9 cost. Once Black Widow went up to $15, I switched back. Would like it to last longer but none of the good polys do. Worth the cost compared to all the other polys.

Comments: I like the string, but it is too brittle and constantly breaks well before other strings I've played with. I was playing with the 17g and moved to the 16g because of my experiences. While stringing the crosses on my second racquet with the 16, the mains broke at the neck. I was about 7 holes from tying off when it snapped. I string my Prestige Pros at 52 lbs. and I have a well calibrated Babolat Star 5 with good clamps. I've never had this happen with other strings.

Comments: Razor Code strings are fairly good in all aspects. I agree with the TW Review, which basically asserts that the strings aren't excellent, but perform above average in pretty much every way. For example: spin production isn't as good as some of the shaped black strings, but it's better than many other polys. They're also relatively soft, but not as soft as say Firestorm or even Lux 4G. Control is alright, and the power is a little much. They actually remind me of Prince Beast, which are a tad too lively for my tastes too. No comment on durability yet. Overall, pretty good, just not extraordinary.

Comments: A nice, soft poly string, lots of spin and power. Great for control as well.
From:Bob, 6/13

Comments: Great crisp feeling string that is soft on the arm. Spin is average for a poly. Tension maintenance is great. Durability is good, but I don't break strings often. Power is ample.
