Overview

The name of this string has changed from Black Code 4S to 4S. Same string, different name.

With 4S Tecnifibre gives big hitters a durable, low-powered co-poly with MASSIVE spin potential, impressive tension maintenance and great feel (especially for a firm monofilament). Boasting a square profile and sharp edges, this string puts a very tight grip on the ball. Topspin players will be able to hit high-arching, spin-loaded balls that come down sharply and explode off the court. For this string Tecnifibre uses Thermocore Technology, a multi-stage heating technique designed to soften the structure and reduce harsh impact vibrations. This helps explain why our playtesters were so impressed with the comfort level. Players looking for a durable co-poly with phenomenal control and spin-potential should definitely give this one a serious look. Try this 16 gauge version for more durability and control than the 17 gauge & 18 gauge versions.

Great lasting spin and good comfort to meSuperb string for heavy topspin hitters. The spin on this string to me is very close to RPM Blast Rough 17 and it lasts a very long time. I gave it four stars because I like to mix up my shots, and when I hit flat with this string I have to cut back on my power. I got used to it and even welcomed it when I was counter-punching. When I went for my usual flat winners and if I didn't take it down a notch, the ball would go long. One more thing I liked about this string is that it played pretty soft and comfortable to me, despite what the university data said about it. Strung on a 95" frame with the mains at 57 pounds and the crosses at 54.

Comments: This string is pretty stunning for players who are looking for extra spin. I strung it on my Extreme Pro and felt like icing on the cake. I can hit as hard as I want with no hesitation on baseline exchange, especially the 17 gauge. Control, spin, power all fall in place and I am like winning a lottery to my surprise. The catch is that it breaks every 6 hours on average and I have to go to the pro shop for restringing my two sticks once or twice every week. I believe I will have to look for a more durable option soon or any suggestion.

Comments: Really like this string. Feels very plush compared to the stiffness rating. No elbow or shoulder issues with this one. Strung up both my Yonex EZone Ai 100 and EZone DR 100 as 52 lbs.

Comments: Wow, this string has a stiffness of 243, compared to the 17G version of 209. For quite some time, TW had only published the stiffness for the 17G version and from playing I had estimated this 16G version to be about under 220.I generally like the string on my Wilson Pro Staff 95s (2014-2015 version), it lasts long and provides good spin. Very underpowered, especially on my backhand slice.
