Made in the USA, this co-poly offers above average comfort for the breed

Made in the USA Hawk Power offers above average comfort for a poly-based monofilament. As such, it feels a tad softer and more powerful than a traditional polyester, but it still offers impressive control on full cuts. In addition to being a great "starter poly" for those new to the breed, Hawk Power will also tempt the poly veteran looking for a softer ride. Spin also comes easy thanks to how fast this string lets you swing. Although Hawk Power definitely loses its fair share of tension over time, the playability holds up well compared to other soft polys.

  • Gauge: 17/1.25mm

Head Hawk PowerNot as soft as Head Hawk Touch, this plays closer to a Babolat RPM Blast/Head Hawk than to a Head Hawk Touch. Good power for plow through though.

Great control string, even at low tensionsI know the name says power but I found this string had tons of control and good power, even at 42 lbs.

Head hawk powerI put it on the Speed Pro 2022 at 52lbs. Played stiff at the beginning, but got more comfortable two hours later. The snap back was limited at the beginning as well, so many balls went into the net. There is a break-in time definitely. After the break-in, it is much better on everything. Not dead but not lively, with plenty of control for depth and angle on groundstrokes. Touch shots are decent as well. Overall a good string except for the one to two hour break in, which makes it not the most ideal tournament string.

Best full bed polySoft for my elbow( had elbow surgery). Powerful, not moving at all. Strung at 48lb on different racquets. Full bed. After this string, stopped experimenting with others and hybrid combinations - waste of time and money (for me). 4.0 player - baseliner

Great stringsGreat strings. Not hard on your arm, powerful. Feels very comfortable when you play which is very important to me. Strings not moving. Strung at 47lb full bed. Try it and you won't be sorry

Great blendI found Hawk Power to have the perfect blend of power with surprisingly good control. Outstanding ball pocketing. This string is not a spin monster, but more than gets the job done. Hawk Power also has a great sound on impact. Hawk power is my new go to.

Comfort, not power. Poor on tension. This string plays fairly comfortable for a poly (feels softer than TW's stiffness measurement of 203; feels more like 185) with good ball pocketing; also, it maintains snapback (stringbed does not lock quickly) better than older-generation polys. But that is the end of its "pros." Its cons are many. It is extremely low powered (82 measurement), so, combined with the ball pocketing, it promotes over-swinging and launching the ball. It is very poor on tension maintenance (48% tension loss almost immediately, per TW's testing, and I can confirm this in person). It does not provide the control of Head Hawk or RPM or the ALU line. I expected this to be similar to Head Hawk Regular or ALU Power, but in fact it feels like a less predictable version of Wilson Revolve, and I would prefer Revolve between them. It is not as predictable as ALU Power, and although it stays playable longer, that playability just isn't as good. Check out TW's "Compare String Tool" for scientifically measured statistics. Don't just go by what a human reviewer thinks on a given day.

Power with ComfortI found Head Hawk Power to be just as described. It's a comfortable poly with good power, and the color looks great! I tried it in a Dunlop CS 200 OS at 50lbs (Mains), 48lbs (Crosses). I favor a more control oriented setup, and this had a little too much power for my game. The feel and comfort were very good, but I think it will work better for me at a higher tension. I'm a senior 4.0 with full strokes from both sides.
