Yonex puts the scalpel-like precision of the standard EZONE 98 into a lighter, faster package
With the 2022 EZONE 98L Yonex gives intermediate players the tools to hit with power, spin and accuracy. For this update, Yonex adds 2G NAMD Speed to the graphite layup, resulting in increased pocketing and better ball feedback. Yonex has also retooled the beam construction, adding a thicker, more convex cross section in the shaft (for stability) along with a thinner frame face (for a softer response). Other technologies include Yonex’s time-tested ISOMETRIC head shape, a unique design feature that makes Yonex racquets feel more generous and forgiving than conventionally shaped equivalents. Rising intermediate players looking for total command over the ball should start here.

Customer Reviews
In The E ZoneThis is everything Ive been looking for in a racquet. I love testing racquets and maybe should have my own YouTube channel but over the years I've come to realize that smaller head sizes are better for my playing style•••having grown up with the wood racquets of old. Thus my favorites are my Prince Phantom 93 P, my Yonex VCore 95, Wilson Pro Labs Ultra 97•••• but the one that blends all the best from each, and every one of those racquets is the Yonex EZone 98 light. The smaller head size provides plenty of control, but the frame offers that power and stability It's light so it's easy to whip around, especially as my body starts to fail me in my older age. It's very arm friendly but stable (I can return powerful serves with ease, play for a couple hours, and still my tennis elbow, which hurt off the court was fine during the match). The frame is thin, so glides through the air really well but still feels more solid than other frames (some frames are, which I like buttery, smooth and thin, but this racquet combines the best of all those worlds)
I also like the image and brand that Yonex is illustrating through Tennis Warehouse and other videos and how the company stays true to its community
Definitely my racquet of choice going forward.
Excellent service and agilityRegarding the store's service, they are always excellent, with the best customer service and fast delivery of products. They are the best. Thank you and keep it up.
Solid racquetPurchased the Ezone 98L after researching multiple racquets online. I made slight modification adding lead tape as stability is needed if you’re playing against heavy hitters. My previous racquet is Head Intelligence i.s12 (oversized) light weight power racquet. I decided to go with Yonex based on their reputation and it doesn’t disappoint. I probably should have tested playing with it first before purchasing. I would have gotten the standard version not the light weight as my skills are developing and I think I can handle the slightly heavier racquet. Regardless, I’m pleased with my purchase. The only negative, I wish the racquet would come with a protective case especially for the price you’re paying.

Ezone 98L is better than you thinkI had several other racquets including Babolat, Ezone 98 and Wilson Clash. However, moved to Ezone 98L due to tennis elbow and shoulder tendon injury. The racquet delivers in all aspects, helped with shoulder and tennis elbow due to its comfort and still brings power and control despite the lower weight. Love it!!!

Great stick for many levelsYonex Ezone 98L. Great racquet for starting teen and for old gals like me who plays 4.5 doubles and likes a quick stick at the net and easy ground strokes.

Yonex Ezone98LThe racquet is great. I love the feel and control I have. Played with a Prince graphite for a long time. Love the weight of the Yonex. Feel like I can hit any shot.
Raqueta impresionante!I have tried the Vcore 98L, Ezone 100 and Ezone 100L models, as well as racquets from other brands and the Ezone 98L is superior to all of them. It provides unique control that allows you to keep your opponent on the ropes. Despite having a very good power level the ball doesn't go out of bounds. The volleys are fast and in general all my shots have improved.
Switched from 98 due to shoulder problemsI had to switch from the EZONE 98 to 98L due to a rotator cuff problem. The adjustment took a week or so, given that the specs are a bit different. However after a few hours on court, this racquet has helped me develop other strokes I was not able to do with the heavier 98 EZONE.
PROS:
- FH and BH slices
- More direction to the ball
- Lighter racquet gives you a faster reaction time.
- Better returns
CONS:
- Lessened groundstrokes power
- Loss of serve power
- Volley control/pop
If you have a shoulder problem try this option, it could work for you as well.
