Overview

Volkl V-Star is one of the most comfortable co-polys available. This string is a great option for the player who wants the spin and durability benefits of a poly-based string but not the high stiffness and off-center shock for which the breed is known. V-Star also has above average power for a control string. All in all this is a great option for the player transitioning into a poly-based monofilament. It's also ideal for all those poly veterans who want to give their tendons a very smooth ride.

Try this ultra thin gauge for maximum spin!

  • Gauge: 19/1.10mm

Comments: Be careful stringing, check your grommets for sharp edges! Don't knick it either. Durability is excellent once safely in an 18x20 pattern, hitting around 80 miles per hour max. Lovely soft feel, thwack and good spin.

Comments: First time stringing this string and it snapped when I was almost finished.

Comments: Just started using this on my new Head Graphene 360 Speed Pros with an 18x20 pattern. Terrific combination of spin, control, and power. It is strung at 46 pounds for winter. I'll probably raise to around 50 pounds for summer. Durability should be okay with this high density pattern. I recommend this string.

Comments: Highly recommend this string for dense string pattern racquets. I use Head Prestige Flexpoint Mid racquets. They are a low powered control frame and come in at a meaty 348 grams including dampner and overgrip. They have a dense 18x20 pattern. I have tried many string types and set ups. This is a great string, gives me good spin including topspin on second serves due to the thin guage. It also provides great feel and is easy on the arm. I have my sticks strung at 50 lbs. At this tension you get good pop. So basically, whether you are wanting to bang flat balls with power or loop the ball this string will do it. I play competitively twice a week in the highest available grade; all court player, medium topspin, like to mix up the pace.

Comments: This string can be difficult. I have been stringing racquets for over 3 years, this string broke on me twice while stringing it. The first time it broke, I thought it was my fault. But exact same thing happened the next time. I have since used the Volkl Cyclone 19G with great results.

Comments: I'm very pleased with this string. Superior comfort for a poly, great spin, power and incredibly durable for the gauge. At first, the launch angle and power are a bit of a surprise on big swings but if you keep the racquet head speed high the strings spin potential maintains control. It also remains playable for a long time. I would definitely recommend Volkl V-Star 19 for dense pattern racquets. I'm currently using it in a Head Speed Youtek IG MP 315 (18x20) at 50 lbs. There is no reason to hurt yourself any longer to have the advantages polyester strings provide.
