A more catchy name would be the "ninja" ball, but suffice it to say the Tourna Practice Foam ball is very quiet, and is also similar to the size and weight of an outdoor pickle ball. Available in either 4 or 12 pack quantities, the Tourna Practice Foam ball is a great addition to a player's tool box, allowing you to focus on improvement and play, without waking the neighborhood.

Tourna Practice Foam BallI compared this ball to the Gamma Librarian. The Tourna Practice Foam Ball is too light to use in an outdoor setting. When the ball is struck, the ball is too light to achieve a normal feel of hitting a pickleball. The wind also blows the ball around too much to use on a regular basis. Sound is reduced dramatically, but the feel of the ball hitting the paddle is not acceptable. I will use these balls as a step one in teaching players how to volley. We do need to address the sound issue that is being felt in certain locations. For that feature, that is a success.
