Overview

Introducing Tourna Silver 7 Tour! This firm co-polyester monofilament will give you the needed control to execute your most powerful strokes without fear of over hitting. It is constructed with seven sharp edges for maximum grip on the ball, resulting in massive spin potential. Recommended to intermediate and advanced players who want a durable co-poly with surgical targeting.  In our TWU String Lab, this string has one of the best scores in the polyester category for tension maintenance.

Try this 16g version for slightly more durability than the 17g version.

Very Similar to ALU Power!I've been a big ALU Power fan for many years, a friend told me to try Tourna Big Hitter Silver, tried the string at 45lbs and found this string to perform and hit similar to the ALU power, good feel, good string and good tension maintenance! a good buy!

Silver 7 TourI tried this string along with several others and it was the clear winner. I usually stay away from 16 gauge strings, but with the sharp edges, the 16 gauge is an advantage. You'll get the grip on the ball plus the tension maintenance is much better. I felt the power was better than average, but controllable. I've been stringing it at 45 pounds without arm issues.

Great tension maintenanceExcellent poly with above average tension maintenance at a bargain price. I string 70 pounds and it is always consistent and never failed to be consistent. Others who I’ve recommended this to find it similarly great on maintenance and livelier than RPM, Lynx, and Hyper-G.

Mixed experience, not sure yetI tried this string because it falls in the range of stiffness I prefer in polys and is supposed to have the best tension maintenance of any poly. But that was not my experience. I strung it at 53-lb in a Prince ATS Textreme Tour 98. 53-lb is the exact midpoint of the tension recommendation, and pretty high for a moderately stiff poly. It was strung on a high-end Wilson Baiardo constant pull machine by a guy who has been stringing my racquets for years. Started out fine, but lost tension much faster than expected and much faster than reviews and specs say it should. The string has massive, monster spin capability and is fun, but it became a trampoline after a couple of sets, giving a huge change in launch angle and loss of control that I was unable to adjust to, forcing me to cut it out after a few hours of play, very prematurely. I'm trying out several different strings, and I only bought one of these, with high expectations. I may give it another go, but will string it at or near the top of the tension range for the racquet. Hopefully it will drop and hold (as it is claimed to do...) where I want it and last for a decent amount of time. I'm currently playing either Luxilon 4G soft 16 or Isospeed Cream 16L, both of which play similarly and last me 3-4 weeks playing 3-4 times a week. I expected at least that (and more...) from the Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7, but it didn't come close in this first trial.

Comments: Tension maintenance is almost as good as advertised. Decent spin, good control. Feel is terrible, as is the case with most stiffer polyester strings. Ultimately that was a deal breaker, as was the power being too low. These just might be personal preferences though. The normal string for me is Cyclone 16 gauge.

Comments: They just got it right! It holds tension, great spin, no arm pain, great control and the price! I've tried all strings out there and I string myself. They last me 8 hours which is great. The RPM Blast and 4G I used to play with before broke much quicker.
