Updated with a more flexible and arm-friendly beam construction for 2022
One of the most arm-friendly racquets in its class, the ATS Textreme Tour 100 (290) is perfect for the intermediate player who wants controllable power and great feel. At under 11 ounces, this stick is faster than the ATS Textreme Tour 100 (310), making it great for hitting shots on the run and reacting quickly at net. It also packs a spin-friendly 16x18 string pattern, giving you enough spin-potential to bring the ball down hard. For 2022, Prince adds a more flexible beam, resulting in better ball feedback along with less shock to the tendons. Other updates include Anti-Torque System (ATS) which features Textreme and Twaron in both the shaft and at 10 and 2 o'clock in the upper hoop. The upshot is less frame torque at impact, resulting in a more powerful and stable hitting experience. Intermediate players looking for controllable power and great feel will love this one.

Old guy tennisWanted a slightly lighter racquet to my older Prince racquets, and this one really fit the bill, enough heft and swing weight to feel solid yet lighter to help combat the unavoidable aging process, now if you could do something about that
So happy with this racquetBeen playing with my old Prince CTS approach and have decided to finally buy a lighter racquet. Very happy with this decision. The Tour 100 is easy on the hand, has nice control and spin. Have always been a fan of Prince, and this truly did not disappoint.
Excellence from PrinceI was a D1 player back in the 70s and continue to play. As I got older, started looking at a more flexible racquet and softer strings to keep the shoulder and wrist pain down to a minimum. I previously used the Tour 100T (2015) but when they discontinued production, I switched to Babolat and then Head. I reached out the racquet guys at TW and asked about the old Tour 100T and they turned me on to this racquet. After tweaking the string tension, I found that a synthetic gut at 55 pounds was the best combo for me. EXCEPTIONAL feel and great for singles and doubles. On the light side, so it took me a few hits to adjust my swing on the forehand, and not quite as much power as some others, but performance is perfect for me. Questions: ask the racquet guys at Tennis Warehouse for info / specs. Love this racquet.
Great RacquetNew to the sport but this racquet has really helped me feel more power and control on my shots.
Powerful racquet for tamingI tested 12 racquets before settling into this Tour 290. Placed 3 grams in the butt handle and 3_9 o’clock each. Best racquet for 3.5 to 4.5 you will be hitting like Sinner!

Good control, good comfortI'm an intermediate player. I was looking for a comfortable racquet that offered me a good amount of control but decent power as well. ATS Textreme Tour 100 290 gives me that. Plays well from the baseline and at the net and is responsive. It could use a tad more heft and perhaps a bit more spin, but my main goal was to play with a racquet that I enjoy and that reduces my injury, and I got that.

No larger grip sizesI play senior age division tournaments and have been happy to find a lightweight players frame in the Textreme Tour 290. The flexible thin beam and light swingweight offer excellent feel and good power. There are many players as myself looking for these qualities in an arm-friendly frame. Since it is no longer available in 4 1/2 grip sizes or larger I will be looking toward other companies for new frames when mine wear out. To build up the grips and then re-balancing the racquets increases the swingweight to the point that it’s no longer a light maneuverable racquet. Sorry to hear Prince made this decision as this is a one of a kind frame in stock form.

Excellent racquetI am 70 year old 3.5 with a one-handed backhand (flat topspin on both wings) who plays a lot of doubles with better and younger guys. I found this racquet to be comfortable, easy to swing, solid at net, controllable, and moderately powerful without swinging as hard as I can. I use Super Smash 1.23mm at 55 pounds and I think this is a great racquet in stock form.
Too light for meI've been playing with the heavier (310 gram) version of this racquet for about a year. I like it. But many reviews suggested the 290 is the one to have. I ordered it when it was discounted and strung it with Champions Choice at my normal tension. Right away, I noticed a horrible vibration that isn't present in the heavier racquet and shouldn't be present in this one. Clearly, the racquet was defective. Nonetheless, I took it out on the court and hit with it. I was not impressed. To me, it lacked the stability of the 310. I suppose you could add a little weight and it would be more stable. I especially didn't like the way it played at the net. I don't know who plays with racquets like this. I can't recommend it. This one was returned as defective and I got a refund.
