Overview

Offering what are perhaps the most versatile and customizable series of pickleball paddles, this is the Master Athletics P3! Stock weight of the P3 is around 8.0 oz. and with the Tuning Kit one can modify the balance and potentially increase the P3 s weight by up to half an ounce (14 grams). Relative to the prior P2 paddle, the update for the Master Athletics P3 features a slightly longer 16.15 in. overall length for extra reach and leverage based power. In addition, the P3 is paired with a thicker 16mm. Polypropylene Core, which along with Master Athletic s ultra-spin friendly SpinTex surface, complements its considerable power with an equal degree of precision. The P3 s Solid One-Piece Carbon frame construction ties together and improves paddle stability, durability and energy return (power). Players with an appetite for an easily modifiable all-court paddle, in a compact shape that is virtually indestructible, can now close the menu after playing with the Master Athletics P3 pickleball paddle.

Good but differentHaving used the P2, I like Master Athletics products. This paddle is similar to the P2 ... but with a few differences. The swing weight is a bit heavier which gives more power, but less quickness. Also, it has a softer bur springier feel. You need to grip it because the twist seems a little less forgiving. I took the dampening plug out to reduce mishits near the handle. Regardless, it looks great and feels nice, so I am getting used to it becoming my primary paddle with the P2 being my backup. If you are a Mater Athletics paddle owner, you'll find that it's a great conversation starter, since most folks don't know much about their fine paddles.
