As one of Grapplesnake's most popular strings, this 8-sided co-poly combines phenomenal spin with outstanding feel

Introducing Tour M8! Occupying the middle ground between Grapplesnake's softest poly (Alpha) and one of its firmest (Tour Sniper), this co-poly delivers exceptional control on full swings while staying surprisingly responsive on touch shots and shorter cuts. It also packs eight edges for bite, a slick surface for snapback, and an ultra predictable trajectory, giving it exceptional spin-potential. Ultimately, Tour M8 is an extremely well-built co-poly. In addition to great control, spin, and durability, it delivers a wonderfully balanced ("Goldilocks") feel, making it one of the most versatile and impressive polys to hit the U.S. market in 2025.

  • Gauge: 17/1.25

My favorite string after trying dozensI've tried a lot of strings and this is by far my favorite. I string around 45-46lbs on a crank stringer. I tried using natural gut hybrid for a while and became really frustrated with that setup and went back to M8 and am very happy again. I think if you prefer high tension (52+) you may be able to find a different string which works better, but at lower tension this string is fantastic. It lasts for months playing 4.0-4.5 three times per week.

Excellent touch and ground strokesCould not believe this string has almost everything. The groundstrokes is superb and also touch shots especially on volleys. No wonder this is a 5 star in TW and people love this string.

Low tension…no problemFirst time using grapple snake M8 and am pleasantly surprised by its playing qualities. Strung up my E zone 98 at 42/40 pounds and I’m really liking the ball pocketing, control and pop the string is giving me so far.

ComfortableThis is very comfortable to use with some great control. I put this in my TF 40 and it worked great.

Love GrapplesnakeBites the ball but also won't bite your arm. Nice comfortable string with awesome pocketing. Strung at 50 pounds all around. Nothing fancy just on a Blade V9 98. Love all my strokes. USTA 3.5 Male if it matters.

Excellent stringReally great string. Get a really nice snap back right after the ball pockets and is a breeze to create spin. Easy on the arm.

Softer than Ultra cable, similar spin.I strung this on a babolat pure aero at 52 main/50 cross using Restring's Zero 1.23 mm on the crosses. I love it more and more as is settles into about 49 lb. I did the same with Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable 1.23. The grapplesnake finds easy spin but definitely gives that softer, less harsh, less 'grazing' type feel. It seems to stretch forever as I string it. I've taken to pausing for a minute or two with each tension as it just slowly stretches out. Pre-stretching it by some method might be best. I dropped 2 lbs of tension after the first hour of hitting. I have to look into how to do the prestretch. I think it is this large reserve of stretch that takes some of that harsh-dead-poly feel out of it. But, when it can slide (and the zero is very slippery) it will give you whatever spin / bite / dive you want. My son and I are enjoying playing with it, and look forward to messing with 45 lb and see if we can still control it.

Arm FriendlyThe last poly I tried hurt my forearm to play for the first like 10 hours of play. This poly felt great right away, and it's still going strong!

Great feelI found this string did a good job providing a lot of feel and precision specifically for the stiffer control oriented racquets. It has sort of this nice elastic, trampoline feeling that gives a really good connection to the ball for that kind of frame without being too stiff like most precision type strings tend to be.

Forgiving control stringThis is the king of control strings. It absorbs some pace and you feel absolutely dialed in to where the ball is going off your strings. Its predictability is unmatched. At the same time, it's pretty forgiving. It somehow makes the sweetspot feel larger, and it doesn't punish lower swing speeds as much as other control strings. The feel is a bit unique--it is both soft and firm at the same time, almost like the rubber surfacing you see at kids' playgrounds these days. It offers a lot of dwell time. So that might not be for people who like boardy feel, but I think most people will love it. 5-10 years ago you wouldn't have thought a poly could feel like this. Spin potential is very high especially for something so round, while launch angle is low to moderate, but you do have to make sure you're taking good cuts to access all that spin. It's also easy to predict your spin. You can really get dialed in over time. If you really want control from your strings above all else, you can't do better than this. The forgiveness makes it accessible to more people. Oh, and also you have to kill it with fire. I've yet to see another string come close to as many playable hours as M8, at least for me.
