Overview

Gosen has created one of the most arm-friendly co-polys on the market. Not only is this a great string for intermediates who want to transition into a control string, but it's also ideal for advanced players who want control without a lot of shock. This special blended polyester monofilament adds a twist. Literally. By twisting the string in the extrusion process, Gosen has given Sidewinder a textured shape for increased ball bite. This, in turn, enhances spin, allowing for better control. It also offers excellent durability.

This string received one of the lowest stiffness scores for a co-poly in our Tennis Warehouse University String Database

Been playing with Sidewinder for 8 years nowBest combination of comfort, control and feel in a poly. Have played with it in 4 different racquets over time and it never fails! Maybe a little less durable, but the feel, comfort and control more than make up for it.

Awesome spin and controlThis string was pretty comfortable hitting and provided awesome spin and control. The durability was quite impressive as well.

Comments: Grew up playing with synthetic gut, got back into tennis early Covid, so I have been hunting for a polyester and after trying tons these are finally it. Soft, actually softer than the synthetic gut I was using so no arm issues with a full bed at 54 pounds. Plenty of power and control, has a closer feeling to synthetic gut than the other polyesters I've tried, very crisp. I think this will be the polyester I stick with. I'm an aggressive baseliner, not rated myself at the moment, but play with 4.5 level men and a few 5.0 level women if that information helps.

Comments: This string plays like a softer Black Widow. Strung it in a Babolat Pure Aero VS at 56 lbs. Didn't feel like it lost too much tension, which was nice. Decent control, decent comfort, good touch, and great spin. But what stuck out most to me was the durability. I'm not in the habit of cutting out strings, and this set lasted me close to 4 months playing 3-4 hours a day, every day. I'm not a string breaker by any means, but that still felt pretty ridiculous. Granted, it did die after a couple weeks as polys and copolys will, but still played acceptably. At the time I was a 3.5 player with a mostly spin oriented game. I'd recommend this if you have elbow issues and are looking to switch to a softer poly, but not wanting to lose spin.
