Diadem Solstice Power is a comfortably firm co-poly with a six-pointed star shape. The result is a string that combines a low-friction surface with maximum ball bite. Comments: I really like this string in the 16L gauge in a traditional string pattern racquet so I decided to try the 15L gauge in a Wilson Spin Effect racquet where I have been using Prince Tour XC 15. Surprisingly, I found the Solstice Power 15L to feel very harsh on off-center hits, and provided seemingly no more spin than the Tour XC 15. Power levels and pocketing feel were approximately the same. The other primary difference between the Solstice Power 15L and the Tour XC 15 is that the Solstice Power is much more sensitive to the spin on the incoming ball, like when volleying a slice where I felt like I had to open up the face of the racquet more to not have the spin drag the ball into the net. With the Tour XC 15 at such an attractive price, there doesn't seem to be a reason for me to switch to the Solstice Power in a Spin Effect racquet, though I will continue to use it in my traditional string pattern racquets.
