Designed for all-out comfort, these Babolat SFX 4 shoes now have even more cushioning between your feet and the court, and continue to offer a wider fit. Extra Cush foam in the midsole feels pillowy soft, while the mesh upper delivers a nice breathable and flexible feel. Rubber has been added to the medial side of the toe box and tip of the toe, to protect the mesh from foot-drag. Babolat's tried and true Michelin rubber is formed into a two piece outsole, with a TPU shank plate in between to help with stability. The herringbone tread has been beefed up in high wear zones for added durability, and the Michelin rubber delivers great traction on a variety of court surfaces.

Solid Shoe for Wide FeetI have hard to fit feet - high arch, high instep, and for 10+ years, loved the New Balance 1006 4E. NB replaced it with the NB 1007 with their "fresh foam technology;" was like playing tennis on a high, hard sponge. The NB 806 comes in 4E, but is an unforgiving tennis shoe that caused me foot pain. After thinking the 806 was my only option, a fellow player recommended the Babolat SFX 4 All Court. I needed shoe stretching liquid and a shoe stretcher to make it fit, but once done, it has been a great shoe, plenty of lateral support and shock absorption, and easy to run for a shot or make quick moves. It is a little on the heavy size, but once I played in it, I ordered three more pairs. If you need a size 4E, which only NB seems to have, I recommend the Babolat SFX 4 AC.
SFX 4 AC drive bluei don’t like the extra cushion for this model.

Updated but not improvedShoe still fits well although a little more narrow but still fits a wider foot. This updated shoe feels more padded but is overkill as it felt unstable right away. Not as great for lateral movement as the sfx 3. Never took it on the court as it just didn't seem stable enough for aggressive play. Probably good if your looking for comfort and not starting and stopping hard
Wide width: heavy and bulkyShoe is a true wide width, 4E, and it’s foot-shaped toe area is great. Must downsize 1/2 size. I got the 9Wide but wasnt sure if I had the correct size ( may need an 8.5 wide ) After 1 month, the shoe serves its purpose: excellent shock absorbtion for 265lb guy, durable,great grip, snug fit with Babolat’s proprietary lacing that doesnt come apart BUT they are heavy and bulky! Dont like it coming from a NewBalance customer 596V4 model which the manufacture doesnt make anymore. Why? Why are all tennis shoe manufacturers making heavy shoes (15 oz and above)?
Sent me to the PodiatristI’ve worn every single iteration of the SFX since they were first introduced. I’ve always loved their roomy fit, support and durability. While this version is stylish and also roomy, they changed the way your foot sits inside the shoe, raising height of the heel. While in theory this seems like a good idea to provide more cushioning against shock, it shifts more weight, stress and pressure to the ball of your foot. After breaking them in by walking around my home for a hour several days in a row, I played one doubles match in these and felt immense pain for several days afterwards. I went to urgent care the following day and they diagnosed me with metatarstalgia. After 2 weeks of continuous pain, I decided to go to the podiatrist. Upon inspecting the shoes, he confirmed that they caused the stress and pain and urged me to send them back. I cannot since I’ve already worn them for 2 hours but I refuse to use them again. Full disclosure: I used custom orthotics in them so maybe others will have better luck playing them as-is. This happened in early March and I’m still experiencing some pain in both feet as a result.
Good Shoe for the priceThis shoe is very comfortable and wears well. Since other reviews mentioned the shoe is wide and fits loose. I decided to order 1/2 size smaller, and they fit perfect.
