Feature rich but poorly made and heavyThe machine has a lot of great features, but it just isn't very durable. I've run into more issues with the ball machine than almost any other product I've owned. The handle is extremely flimsy for such a heavy machine. I've had gears inside break multiple times and had to replace them myself, guided by support. Reception issues with the remote. Stuck balls. Constant problems with the elevation motor. Eventually just gave up on this thing. It's too bad because the features on this machine are well beyond the competition.

Battery. Expensive. Heavy. Design issuesThe maker supplies a standard charger that is supposed to keep the battery from dying. I sure didn't get very many months of use before mine died. Lobster sells replacement batteries for twice what Amazon charges, and they don't have any advantage — for the same money, I bought a lithium battery that purportedly will take thousands of charges — we'll see. The prices are crazy. The basic model now costs over $1,000. If you want Lobster's remote, you'll pay another $185. I paid Amazon $15 for a kit that I wired in myself, after a couple hours figuring out how to do it. I'm so glad for other players that Slinger introduced their machine after I bought mine. My Liberty weighed 42 pounds. After I swapped out the lead battery for lithium, it dropped to 38. Maybe it's just not possible to get the weight lower, but they should at least be honest about the weight. The ball feed rate was about double what the Control panel indicated. I had to block off half of the feed positions to get it right. This permitted me to practice a swing after each ball. The ball hopper has “dead” areas where as many as six balls will sit and never get launched. It was exasperating to wait for Godot, while seeing the balls in the hopper from across the court. I had to design foam inserts to remove the dead areas.

Previous Feedback

Comments: Purchased it in November 2016, worked extremely well for 1.5 years, then the machine stopped taking a full charge. Contacted Lobster customer service for advice, tried replacing the battery (twice) and the charger, same issue. Lobster said it could be a problem with the control panel, it or the entire machine would have to be returned for them to check. Was not feasible to ship back, so machine was retired after less than 2 years of proper operation. Somewhat disappointing for an expensive piece of equipment.
