KSwiss Hypercourt Supreme Women's Shoe Review

Comfort - Score: 4.7

With a variety of foot types to test these shoes on, our playtest team was able to give the KSwiss Hypercourt Supremes a comprehensive analysis. Michelle has medium-width feet with high arches and has had plenty of experience with KSwiss shoes over the years. She said, "These shoes fall in line with what I have come to expect from KSwiss: complete comfort! Because I love the cosmetics on these shoes, and they’re so comfortable, I’ve been wearing them for months whether I'm on or off the courts. I’m a big fan of the bootie construction, and no break-in time was needed in these. The Hypercourt Extremes felt so sleek and speedy, but also comfortable. I liked that they weren't bulky, and the cushioning underfoot felt pretty responsive and more minimal than some other KSwiss shoes. I will admit that they do fit a tad wide, but I could cinch them up to get a snug fit that worked better for my feet than the fit of the Hypercourt Express 2. I also felt that the uppers were fairly breathable and flexible. I have no big complaints in the comfort department; the only issue worth bringing up is that I would add an aftermarket insole for a tiny bit more support for my high arches."

"I was pleasantly surprised to find a more streamlined fit when I first slipped the Hypercourt Supremes onto my feet," continued Brittany, who has narrow feet. "With the Hypercourt Express 2s, I had a lot of extra room throughout the shoes. With the Supremes, the bootie construction allowed the upper to wrap around my foot for a better fit. There was still some extra room in the toe box and a little around the heel. Nonetheless, as I was walking to the court I couldn't help but notice the plush cushioning underfoot. There was no break-in period, and the uppers are seamless, so I didn’t have any hot spots, which made the shoes comfortable from the very first hit to the last."

Our wide-footed playtester, Tiffani, was also impressed. She said, "I'm trying to think of bootie construction shoes I've tested that haven't constricted my wide feet or needed to be broken in before they felt comfortable, and I can't think of any. Enter the Hypercourt Supremes. These shoes have a bootie construction, but they fit my wider feet well. When I first slipped them on they felt more snug through the forefoot than the Hypercourt Express 2s did. The uppers were plenty flexible, though, so they were still comfortable. The uppers relaxed some after about three hours, and I started cinching up my laces a bit tighter. The cushioning felt quite plush throughout the playtest, yet unlike some cushioned shoes, these Hypercourt Supremes never felt too hot. I have no complaints in the comfort department. These shoes are a great fit for me."

Foot Support/Stability - Score: 4.1

The support and stability of the Hypercourt Supremes satisfied all three playtesters, even with the shoe's slightly wider fit. As a player who looks for extra stability in her shoes, especially around the ankles, Brittany felt very confident in the Hypercourt Supremes. She said, "I did utilize the last eyelet to get the most locked-in fit possible, but I felt very secure in my movements and never had any issues with my ankles. As I mentioned in the comfort section, there was a little extra room in the toe box and heel due to my narrow feet, so I did have some minor shifting within the shoes when moving aggressively. However, this did not hinder my movement. I did consciously retie my shoes a little more often than usual to keep the fit as locked-in as possible."

"The uppers of these shoes felt so thin and flexible, I did have concerns that the support would wane as the material relaxed after a few hours of use," added Tiffani. "However, I was proved wrong. Instead, the flexibility of the material meant that I could pull the laces tighter, and the uppers just molded around my feet comfortably for great support. My feet sat down inside the shoes nicely, and that created a very stable feel for all my movements on the court."

Michelle had no complaints, saying, "I put a lot of equity into this category, and I was really satisfied with the support and stability. I felt confident moving side to side and turning quickly on the court in these shoes. The bootie uppers really held my feet. Despite the fit being a tiny bit wide, my feet were well supported once the shoes were laced up."

Overall Sole Durability - Score: 4.0

The Aosta 7.0 outsole and Drag Guard make the KSwiss Hypercourt Supremes one of the most durable lightweight shoes on the market. Tiffani was very impressed. She said, "These shoes are light, yet they have held up to the grit of playing on hard courts. After logging about 10 hours of court time in these shoes, plus many more just walking around, the outsoles show very little wear. I also have this habit of turning my foot over and dragging it on the backhand side, and the uppers didn't tear or scuff."

"For lightweight shoes, these Supremes are durable," said Brittany. "I would definitely put them up there as some of the more durable lightweight shoes I have tested. I don't see any premature wear on the outsole or toe box. I expect to spend many more hours on court in them."

With well over 25 hours on and off the court, Michelle spent the most time testing the Hypercourt Supremes. She said, "As I mentioned earlier, I have been getting a lot of use out of these shoes. I am happy with how well they have held up, but I've definitely noticed some smoothing under my big toes as I wrap up this playtest. I was also really happy with how consistent the traction remained as the playtest went on. I personally love the rubber KSwiss uses and have always found it to be fairly durable."

Traction - Score: 4.0

Our playtesters unanimously agreed that the Hypercourt Supremes offered a grippy response on court. Michelle was a fan, saying, "Traction on KSwiss shoes is usually a bit on the stickier side, and the Hypercourt Supreme was no exception, which means that I loved it! I have tested some shoes recently that felt like I was on ice skates, but these Supremes kept me feeling secure moving around the court."

Not much of a slider, Tiffani appreciated the response she got out of the traction. She said, "These shoes don't allow for much sliding, but they didn't feel overly sticky either, so my transitions still felt smooth. I didn't notice anything while I was playing on the court, and that's always a good indicator that the traction level is good."

Brittany shared similar sentiments with the other two playtesters. She added, "Like most KSwiss shoes, I found the traction to be slightly on the stickier side. I felt very confident in the traction as the playtest wore on, and I always knew when it would give or grip. I never felt stuck on the court, and this remained consistent throughout the playtest. I thoroughly enjoyed the traction."

Weight - Score: 4.5

Weighing in at only 10.8 ounces (size 8.5), the KSwiss Hypercourt Supremes easily fall into the lightweight category. Brittany loves light shoes, especially when they're as stable and durable as these Supremes. She said, "Even though they are light, these shoes still pack plenty of punch, and KSwiss did a good job utilizing every ounce of these shoes. They are substantial enough to be worn during intense practice sessions and during matches. High marks from me!"

"I am really happy with the weight of these shoes," Michelle added. "They are light and quick, but still solid and comfortable. They're definitely in the lightweight category, but not in the minimal category. They never felt bulky, but they are more durable than other shoes in this weight range."

Tiffani thought that the Hypercourt Supremes had it all. She described, "These Hypercourt Supremes somehow were cushioned, stable, durable and light. There usually is some give and take, but these shoes have been solid performers in every category. I didn't feel weighed down in these shoes at all. KSwiss got the weight right with the Hypercourt Supremes.”
