This ultra arm-friendly racquet combines impressive control and feel with the advantages of a more forgiving head size

ProKennex adds a more forgiving head size to their iconic Black Ace franchise. With its 105 square inch head, the Black Ace 105 not only offers more power and a larger margin of error than the other Black Ace models, but it also manages to deliver the outstanding control and feel. Under the hood, the Black Ace 105 features Kinetic Technology, a time-tested system that uses movable mass to help the racquet absorb shock and plow through the ball. Other notable technologies include a Kinetic Comfort Handle System which reduces harsh vibrations for a cleaner feel at impact. In keeping with its innovative pedigree, ProKennex gives this racquet FlexLogic to help it bend more optimally at impact. The upshot is reduced head deformation and increased dwell time, resulting in better control and easier access to spin. By combing classic control and feel with a more forgiving hitting surface, ProKennex has created a versatile racquet for intermediate and advanced players.  Did we mention the comfort?

Unmatched for Power and ComfortI picked up the PK Black Ace 105 after developing some arm problems after years of using the 2016 Pure Aero with poly. I definitely prefer a powerful racquet but I wanted some comfort as well. I have tried several racquets over the past few months, the Clash 100 and 108, Head Extreme and Speed, Pure Aero 2019, Yonex Ezone and Yonex Vcore, Angell 100, etc. None of these racquets has the combination of power and comfort that the Black Ace has. The only one that is close is the Clash 108 V1. The only thing I don't like about the Black Ace 105 is that the extra length makes it a little tougher to maneuver, which is difficult on the forehand side. For a two handed backed, it's perfect. One other thing is that you can definitely hear the kinetic mass when you make contact with the ball, so that takes some getting used to. Overall, a great racquet.

My new racquet of choiceI hesitated to purchase a 105-inch racquet after using my 100-inch ProKennex Ki Q+ 5 for the past few years. I exclusively use PK racquets due to past arm and shoulder injuries. Despite having higher stiffness ratings than other choices, I find PK to be the most arm-friendly racquets on the market by a wide margin. TH BA 105 has nearly the same control as my KI Q+ 5 100, and generates a bit more easy power and margin for error. Nothing crazy, and my balls did not fly at all. Better at net and on serves than my 100, and equally as comfortable. I will always reach for the 105 in doubles, and alternate between the 100 and 105 for singles. I'm a 4.0 playing daily in Florida.

Great RacketFinally a racquet with a little bigger head plus a little long which still maintains a solid weight and swing weight! I tried this racquet when a friend of mine demoed it and knew right away that ProKennex had come out with something special. I have been playing tennis for over 50 years and not since Head discontinued their Elite Master back in the very early 90's have I found a racket that compares. I am not saying this racquet is for everyone but I would suggest for anyone at any level to give this a try and maybe see for yourself if this might be the racquet for you! Also I do not write reviews on things but I did feel that ProKennex deserved I shout out for not only this frame but others in their lineup that may be overlooked in the Tennis world.

Great oversize racquetGot this for a friend to demo and ended up really enjoying it. It's incredibly comfortable and powerful. Had really good feel compared to other Pk racquets I've demoed. Control is pretty good too although not as good as the 95 & 98 in racquets I use. Really like the cosmetic as well.

No More Elbow ProblemI am very impressed with this racquet, because of the elbow problem I have tried various racquets that have stiffness between 56 to 62 and I still have problems after playing for more than 2 hours. At first I was skeptical about this model because the stiffness rating is 64 but finally after I tried it, I had no problems at all with my elbow and it seems the kinetic technology really works perfectly. I feel well connected to every shot and you get extra power. Previously I have tried Black Ace Pro and it is too muted compared to this 105.

Doubles players take noteIn general the Black Ace 105 plays very similarly to my Prince Textreme Premier 105 from 2018. The volley response is a bit softer making angled touch shots easier and punching the ball deep a bit harder. Power on serve is great and the extra length helps to clear the net and get a a good angle on first serves. Power from the baseline is good and spin is adequate to keep the ball in the court. Maneuverability is good, making instant reaction shots at net doable.
