Summary

Built for players who enjoy a healthy blend of power and control, the Tecnifibre TFight 315 Dynacore will appeal to intermediate and advanced players because of its maneuverability and spin potential. Our testers appreciated how easily they could generate power and spin while placing their shots where they wanted. Two of our playtesters craved more plow through and stability, and they successfully added some weight to this racquet to make it fit their games. From the baseline, this racquet helped our playtesters hit consistently and aggressively. At the net they found it easy to maneuver the TFight 315 Dynacore in quick exchanges and they could let this racquet do the work for them. Our team also agreed that there was ample power, and precision was there when they needed it from all areas of the court. In stock form this racquet is an attractive option for players who like a fast swinging racquet to dictate matches in a precise and controlled fashion, but with its specs, this TFight 315 Dynacore also leaves the door open for big hitters who like to customize racquets to fit their game.

Groundstrokes - 82

At the baseline our playtesters found a balance of power and control from the TFight 315 Dynacore. The fast feel was a standout feature for all four players, but two of our playtesters added weight to the top of the hoop to increase the swingweight. Brittany found this racquet easy to use. In fact, the first time she used it she went straight into a set without any issues. She said, "I liked that there was enough power to generate my own pace easily on more aggressive shots and enough control to hit the ball anywhere I wanted."

Marco really liked the racquet head speed he could generate on his big groundstrokes, which let him get plenty of spin. He had one knock, though, and said, "I found it was tough to really get my slices to penetrate through the court. I experimented with putting some lead tape at the tip of the racquet, and the added weight really helped get the ball to zip through the court."

The TFight 315 is slightly heavier than what Tiffani has been playing with lately so it took her about an hour to feel completely comfortable with it. She said, "I really liked how this racquet felt off the ground. Because it is on the upper end of my preferences when it comes to weight, I could really tell the difference in stability. The TFight 315 Dynacore just felt solid compared to what I've been hitting. I also liked the power level. I was hitting with just as much pace, if not more, with less effort. Once I got this racquet moving it did the work for me. It swung quickly for its weight, so I felt comfortable taking the ball early and taking shots inside the baseline when I could."

It took Sebastian a few hours of hitting to get used to the racquet's maneuverability. Once he did he really enjoyed the exceptional access to spin. He said, "This racquet was comfortable to hit with from the back of the court, and the open 16x19 string pattern let me to hit the ball with heavy spin while still allowing me to generate plenty of power. I added some weight to the head of the racquet to get more stability."

Volleys - 82

Maneuverability was the name of the game when it came to volleying with the Tecnifibre TFight 315 Dynacore. Marco said, "I liked how easy it was to get the racquet prepared quickly for balls coming at me with some pace. I could also get the racquet low in time for balls dipped at my feet. There wasn't a lot of pop off the stringbed, so I felt I really needed to get my body going through the ball to stick it."

Volleys are not Tiffani's favorite shot to hit, but she liked the TFight 315 Dynacore at net. She explained, "I felt like I just needed to put this racquet in place and it would do what I wanted. As I said earlier, this racquet is a bit heftier than the racquets I'm usually testing, so I really appreciated the more solid feel."

Sebastian particularly enjoyed this racquet when volleying because of its feel and exceptional maneuverability. He said, "I felt that the low swingweight worked in my favor and allowed me to hit my volleys with great precision, especially when I was playing doubles."

"This was definitely a fast racquet up at net," said Brittany. "My hands felt very quick whether I was punching a put-away volley deep down the line or reacting to a quick volley exchange in doubles. I really enjoyed the solid feel up at net. The TFight 315 Dynacore had a crisp, firm response at ball contact"

Serves - 85

Finding a great blend of spin, control and power, our playtesters were very positive about their experiences when serving with the TFight 315 Dynacore. Tiffani had no issues swinging this racquet since it had such a head light balance. She said, "While I am never going to blast my opponents off the court with my serve, I was getting some nice pace with the TFight 315 Dynacore. My spin levels were about average, but I just had to let this racquet do its thing and not get in the way."

"I really enjoyed this racquet's maneuverability when I was hitting first serves, but I would have liked a bit more stable feel during contact," critiqued Sebastian. "When I added weight to the head of the racquet this issue was easily resolved. When hitting second serves, I enjoyed the higher trajectory I was able to get on the ball and really enjoyed how I could generate lots of spin."

Brittany also found plenty of pace and spin when serving with this racquet. She commented, "I could really go up and after the ball, and the spin would keep it in the court. When I was playing sets I had an arsenal of different serves I could hit. I also felt comfortable going for slightly riskier second serves. I could aim out wide instead of into the body."

Marco was satisfied with the pop he could generate on his big lefty serve and felt like he was rewarded for his efforts. He said, "There was plenty of precision with the TFight 315 Dynacore, too. Swinging serves out wide and popping one up the 'T' were both within my control without having to overcompensate."

Returns - 81

Our team became a bit divided when it came to their experiences returning with the TFight 315 Dynacore. Sebastian enjoyed the response but was still looking for more stability from this racquet. He explained, "Especially on off-center shots, I felt this racquet to be more prone to twisting. However, I used the maneuverability of this racquet to my advantage and was able to react quickly and swing through the ball smoothly."

"It was a bit more challenging to really pressure my opponent off returns unless I timed the ball sweetly," said Marco. "I found I needed to swing harder on second serve returns to give the ball the pace and control I wanted. Chip returns required good timing to get the ball firmly and deeply on the other side of the net. Once again, a bit of lead tape in the head lengthened the sweetspot and made it easier to generate pace and spin on returns."

The other two testers enjoyed the weight of this Tecnifibre racquet. Brittany thought the TFight 315 Dynacore felt very stable when returning serves. She said, "There were a couple times right at the beginning when I was a little late, but I didn't have any issues after making some small adjustments. My favorite part of returning was successfully blocking back the return wherever I wanted -- that allowed me to start on the offensive."

"I enjoyed the added stability from the extra weight," said Tiffani. "I could block back balls more effectively than usual, and I felt comfortable attacking serves because this racquet came through the strike zone surprisingly fast. Plus, with the bit of extra weight my shots were more powerful than usual."

Likes

Brittany - "I liked the combination of power, control and stability."

Marco - "I really enjoyed the maneuverability of the TFight 315 Dynacore and the ability to really snap the racquet head up on serves. It was easy to get this racquet in position quickly for volleys and returns, which bought me time and more options on shots."

Tiffani - "I was surprised at how much I liked this racquet considering it is slightly heavier than what I typically like. However, it swings much more easily than its weight indicates, and I liked the controllable power and the increased stability over my typical choices."

Sebastian - "Overall, this TFight 315 Dynacore is a great racquet for the intermediate to advanced tournament player who likes to hit the balls with heavy spin. The open string pattern allowed me to get great trajectory on my shots. I wasn't afraid of balls going out, so I could hit my shots with great confidence. I liked the combination of being able to generate plenty of spin while hitting balls deep with good power."

Dislikes

Brittany - "There was nothing to dislike!"

Marco - "It is a bit too light in the head for me, which made the ball not really come off the stringbed like I'm used to on groundstrokes. I'd recommend using lead tape at the top of the racquet to help solve this problem."

Tiffani - "Nothing."

Sebastian - "At times I noticed a lack of stability on my shots. This racquet was more prone to twisting on off-center shots. However, I expected this going into the playtest because of the low swingweight and the 7 points head light balance. I was able to adjust to the unique features of this racquet pretty quickly."

Comparing it to other racquets they've used, our testers said:

Brittany - "Two racquets I would compare this to are the Volkl Super G 9 and the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19. Both are control-oriented racquets that have access to power, spin and stability when needed, just like the Tecnifibre TFight 315 Dynacore."

Marco - "When comparing this racquet to the Babolat Pure Drive Plus, which is slightly less headlight, it was noticeable how much more pop there is off the Babolat's stringbed. Picking up low balls and flicking them up and over the net was tougher to do with the TFight 315. I didn't notice too much difference on serves. The TFight provided plenty of juice and you really do get rewarded when you go after the ball with this racquet."

Tiffani - "It's been quite some time since I picked up a TFight model since I tend to prefer the more powerful TFlash models. However, I was impressed with the power level of this TFight 315 Dynacore. It doesn't have explosive power, rather I found it to be a controlled power. This could be like a newer model Head Radical Midplus that has a more open string pattern. There's added pop over a traditional control racquet but not quite as much as Babolat Pure Drive type racquets."

Sebastian - "The TFight 315 Dynacore is more maneuverable than the Wilson Blade 98 16x19. To get that extra stability from this racquet I would suggest adding extra weight to the head. The 7-points head light balance definitely gives players room to experiment with whatever wight they feel most comfortable with. I wasn't able to generate as much power with the TFight 315 Dynacore, but I really enjoyed its comfortable feel and its ability to hit my balls deep into the court."
