Volkl Tour 10 V-Engine Mid Comments:

As with all Volkls, this racquet was really comfortable. It did everything well, except serve. I didn't serve well with the racquet. I found the ball falling into the net on first and second serves. I had to generate any/all power with the racquet. The racquet basically required you do to all of the work. Good preparation was a must with this one. Spin was moderate with the tighter string pattern. I prefer a more open string pattern. Of the three racquets I was sent, this was my second choice.

Head Liquidmetal Prestige Mid Comments:

I would really like to try the midplus in this racquet. It was very maneuverable and comfortable, but I found it too head light. Overall, it felt lighter than the other two racquets and didn't help much with hard hit balls. I had a hard time returning serves and found stability lacking with this racquet. It did serve well as the head light balance allowed me to snap my wrist through the ball. Direction on serves was very good as well. My serves lacked the bite they do with a heavier racquet. Of the three frames sent, I liked this one the least.

Wilson nCode nSix-One Tour 90 Comments:

I really hate that TW sent me this racquet. I tried the other two thinking I'd like them better. Well, with this racquet, it was love at first swing. The balance of this racquet is awesome, and I don't know if there is any difference, but it felt better than its predecessor. It flexes where a racquet should flex and plays more flexible than its numbers. The best quality of this racquet is the stability. It plows through balls on every stroke. With this racquet, I was able to pound first serves with pace and spin. I was also able to nail forehands in the corners and backhands came around after about 30 minutes of hitting. Good preparation is a must with a racquet of this heft, but you are rewarded with some great directional control. Greatest quality of this racquet is the volley. I have never volleyed so easily with any racquet from the get go. From the first volley, I was able to hit with confidence and serve/volley easily. Directional control on volleys was awesome and pace on them was good as well. The racquet plays well without a dampener, which is a plus, and when you center the ball, it makes a great sound. I also liked the open string pattern and spin was easy to generate off both wings. The racquet lends itself to slicing the ball. The weight of the racquet also allows you to block back balls. Of the three racquets I was sent, this is my far and away favorite. Wilson has a winner with this one.
