Wilson Enduro Tour 16 String 10 Pack Customer feedback

Comments: I have been using Wilson Polylast 16 gauge for about three years now. When I learned that it was discontinued a couple of years ago, I bought 50 sets, and have been playing with them ever since. I love these strings because they last way longer than the regular polyester string, and are way cheaper than the other durable stings. The reason that the string last so long is because it contains hytrel. Hytrel keeps the string from moving. Less movement means less wear and thus less tear. These strings last 2 to 3 times longer than the regular polyester strings. And because the strings don't move so much, they don't stretch so much either. So tension is maintained better over time, which makes the string still playable even when after prolonged heavy spins. However, because the string doesn't stretch, I string my tension pretty low--12.5 pounds lower than synthetic gut strings to be exact, at 44.5 pounds. I hit hard and with lots of topspin. I usually break regular polyester strings every third time I play. But with the Hytrel in the Polylast 16, the string lasts 2 to 3 times longer. Does all this sounds too good to be true? Well there is one problem with the 16 gauge though. Because the string doesn't really stretch, it will snap when I put too much stress on it. Whenever I serve or swing really hard at the ball and hit the ball at the very tip of the top of the racket face, the string can snap. Whenever I hit the ball at the very tip of the racket, the part of the string that wraps around the frame can snap. I have tried the 15 gauge before I bought 50 sets of the 16n gauge, and I didn't have a problem with the string snapping on me. The 15 gauge is thicker and definitely stronger, so it probably would take a lot more stress before it will snap. But then I have gotten better in the last 3 years and can probably hit the ball a little harder than before, and thus have more chances of snapping the string. I played fine with the 15 gauge strings before, so I don't have a problem with its playability. I play fine with the 16 gauge now too even though I string it at 44.5 pounds. I don't have a problem with control though because

Comments: I'm a hard hitter, even Wilson’s durable synthetic string dint last for more than 1 month. This is the first time I tried this and it cupped the entire ball. After some adjustments, I found that my strokes no longer need to be that long, when it can be more powerful yet retaining the control. A cheap and reliable string, not to mention its durability.

Comments: I love the firm feel this string has to offer! Since this string offers little power, you can get a lot of control if you're a heavy hitter or someone who likes using heavy topspin or slice.

Comments: I was looking for a string that wouldn’t move when strung at a lower tension around 56-57lbs, and well, needless to say it doesn’t move much, no matter how hard or how much spin I hit with it. Feel wise it seems ok, takes awhile to break it in because it feels very stiff at first, also the strings have a louder ping sound to it.

Comments: Durability is definitely not an issue with the Wilson PolyLast 16 String. No matter how hard and how much heavy topspin I hit with, I wasn't able to break these strings. They just don't break. Playability however, is a different story. Because of the thick gauge, I wasn't able to generate as much topspin as I would've liked. For durability, it is a great string, for playability, it's only so-so.

Comments: The Wilson PolyLast 16 is an ideal string for big hitters and for those who hit heavy topspin. I highly recommended this string for big hitters.

Comments: When I strung my Wilson Hammer Titanium 7.0 with Wilson Polylast 16 they lasted, but since I strung it at 55lbs. there was an extreme amount of "ping". It is a good string if it is strung at higher tension.

Comments: For the majority of my tennis career I have played with regular synthetic gut. Due to my heavy topspin swing the strings would often break or fray. When I started playing with Wilson Polylast 16g, I stopped breaking strings so often and stopped having to restring my racquet due to fraying or loss of tension. Wilson Polylast is the ideal string for hard hitters and for those who hit heavy topspin. When I strung at 62 lbs., it felt as if I was playing with a brick wall, but when I losened up to 57 lbs., I was able to get moderate power behind the ball.
