Comments: I am on my second pair and they both wore out the inside padding in a very short time. Very comfortable and with a great support, but due to the cut in padding they quickly became old!

Comments: New Balance are my favorite tennis shoe and I play tennis 3-4 times/week as a 4.0 player. I wear the 544 shoe and used to wear the 651 shoe. I tried the 652 shoe and it didn't have enough padding and bounce. Seemed stiff and tight without as much support as I like. The 544 is a great shoe, not sure why Tennis Warehouse doesn't carry it, maybe it's being discontinued?

Comments: The CT652 is not the same shoe as the 651 or the 650. The shoe just does not feel anywhere near as comfortable as the previous incarnations. NB must know it and isn't the sign of the times that the corporate interest is not "quality forever"

Comments: These shoes have lasted longer than any other shoes that I have worn. I wore my Wilson shoes out in two weeks playing once a day, and these have lasted me three, without forming any holes. I drag my back foot, and go through shoes faster than most people I know, but these shoes have lasted.

Comments: I have been wearing NB tennis shoes for five years starting with the 647's and progressing through the series. (I'm a big fan of width sizing and durability guarantees.) I found the 652's to be a good, sturdy shoe. However, despite purchasing a 2E width, the shoe was initially painfully uncomfortable. Far too tight across the top of the foot (in the upper tongue area). After a few weeks of break-in, this problem resolved itself and the shoe became wearable. Frankly, I feel the 652's are the worst of the 647-652 line. I hope NB goes back to the older design (I think the 648-651's were all great.) The 652 shoes seem like a step backward. The 651 felt "deeper" to me, the 652 seems like a lower cut. If the 653's fit me this badly, I may have to switch brands, or styles. I'm on my second pair of 652's. I went up a size in length and width (from 11.5 2E to 12 4E.) The shoes are still a bit tight across the top of the foot despite the larger size, which borders on being too large for me so either I have strange feet or the 652 design has a problem. Let's hope they get the 653's right because the 652 wasn't one of the better designs in this line.

Comments: Great shoe for a scrambler. I can run down anything short of a stealth fighter in these shoes. However, there is one major drawback -- I've lost both my little toes' nail from bruising. Whenever I put the brakes on hard, my little toes slam into the edge of the toe box. I think the toe box tapers at too narrow an angel for a wide foot with a high arch like mine. The 652 4E in the only New Balance shoe that has ever hurt me from slamming on the brakes and turning hard. If I liked pain, I would stay with these shoes, because, brother, they are fast and agile and let me jump a half-foot higher than any other tennis shoe I've worn. Alas, I'm not into pain, so I'm going to move on and give the 1001 a try.

Comments: The beauty of this shoe is that it comes in widths. Don't assume there is only D widths just from the web site choices. Call and ask for the 4E width. It is the same price. My tennis buddy has alerted me to the benefits of the NB 4E width. It is not like a boat attached to your foot! I probably won't ever go back to the Prince broad toe shoes, as nice as they were. I can't find them now, anyway. Now to the courts! Thanks TW for the great prices!

Comments: I’ve never had New Balance shoes before, but I am disappointed in these 652’s. I had the Asics Challenger shoe, which was a tiny bit more expensive and so much more comfortable. I find my foot slips in these even though they are the right size. The end of the shoe seems to be really hard, and it hurts my foot big time when I stop suddenly.

Comments: Beware fans of the NB 651! The 652's are not simply a 651 with a different name! he 652's are sporting a much narrower toe box than the 651, and a heel cup that is significantly "shallower" than the earlier model. If you wear an orthotic or heel cushion, you will have to do some modifications to the on-board insole to eliminate that feeling of "heel slippage". And if you liked the NB651's because of their nice roomy toe box, get ready for a toe squeeze. Otherwise, like the NB651, this is a solid and dependable shoe, offering the same high quality utility and performance as its predecessor.

Comments: I had the 651's, and now I have the 652's. The 652's are more comfortable right out of the box and onto the courts. The 651's required a break-in period before playing, because they were initially stiff. If you want the best in comfort and durability, then you want New Balance.
