Yonex EZONE 107 Racquets Customer feedback
Comments: The racquet is very potent on the control side. I find the racquet is just fine as delivered by Yonex without the need to modify. With proper top spin technique and right balance posture, the racquet will deliver amazing angling shots precisely with lightning pace. Kick serve? Awesome amount of spin without doing much! This racquet does force player to have top spin ground stroke to fully utilize its potential. I did find there was a serious lack of power.
Comments: Strategically changed the set up for this stick. Added thin lead tape to 9, 10, 12, 2 and 3 o'clock positions. (Thin golf club lead weight). Quite a few rotations of lead tape on all positions, then covered the lead tape with black electrical tape for protection and disguise. The Yonex now weighs in at 425 grams and is one killer stick. The backhand slice and power is awesome. The serve is totally killer and accurate. The forehand topspin is raw power and the volley has stability, torque, power and accuracy. Although, I must admit, I have been using my training weights to increase the strength of my arm. What you get with my customization profile is torque, mega monster slice, power volleys and a big bad mother of a first serve. My customized Yonex E-Zone 107 is now the racquet I have always been looking for.
Comments:This is a follow up to my previous review. I was able to add some weight just above the grip (36 inches of 1/4 inch led tape, wrapped around) and covered with a replacement grip rubber band. With one over grip this puts my racquets at 319g or 11.25 ounces, and 5 1/2 points head light or 32.6 cm balance. One point is 1/8th of and inch. For string, I am using Wilson NXT 16g at 60 pounds. I am hitting the best slice backhand I have ever hit with this racquet. My backspin approach shots are staying low and getting to their target quickly. My flat (with a little slice) serve, slice serve and kick serve are all working well. I am hitting my flat serve with a little slice harder and more consistently than ever. When I block back returns with backspin, they are staying, landing deep and moving fast. My drop volley and drop shots are working well also. With the added weight and more headlight feel I think this racquet works very well for more advanced players. If you are a slice and dice retriever that occasionally takes a big cut at a semi western forehand this racquet is definitely worth a try.
Comments: I like this racquet stock with no weight added. I tried to add weight but it just seems to take away from the frame. I like to hit a lot of slice shots off the forehand and backhand side and hit a topspin forehand when I have time. This racquet is perfect for this. I found defensive lobs are also great. My topspin serves are easy to hit with good kick and placement. I am using a Pro Hurricane 18g in the mains and 18g Tecnifibre X One Biphase string on the crosses, both strung at 60 pounds.
Comments: This is a very good racquet. Its large sweet spot was amazing, and the amount of topspin and backspin it provided was amazing, but the power was awesome and it didn't take any of the control away. I usually use a Babolat Aero Pro Drive or a racquet that would provide a lot of power and topspin. I would of never thought to purchased a Yonex racquet but I think this racquet would suit every type of player from, counter puncher, baseline or serve volley this racquet is a 10/10 for me.
Comments: I bought this racquet as a replacement for my S Fit 5 and it was the worst decision I have ever made. I have been using Yonex racquets ever since I have started playing and this one would have to be one of the worst I have used. Quite disappointing considering I have never had a bad experience with a Yonex racquet before. I have been struggling to get a lot of pace on my shots and my serve and if I am playing someone who hit the ball harder then me it is incredibly difficult to just rebound the power back.
Comments: The racquet has good balance between power and control. Swing weight is properly prepared, enabling easy racquet swinging. Sweet spot is relatively wide, and hitting vibration of the stick is minimal. So, this one is recommended for players with elbow trouble.
