Customer feedback
Comments: My initial impression of the shoe was that it was more supportive than my Asics Gel Resolution 2 and equal in terms of cushioning. However, after playing with them for a few hours each day, it is starting to hurt my arch. I have high arch and have added a SOF athlete insole but still it does not work for me. Off to find another pair of shoes I go.
Comments: I've owned these shoes since February (09) and they've began to wear out to the white/gray foam past the rubber a month back or so. I am very satisfied with these shoes. The cushioning, weight, and fit were suited to my likings. To the comments on durability, I am not so much of a toe-dragger, so I would agree that these shoes are not the most durable. I had bought these on a whim, and didn't take the time to look for something else, and I don't regret not doing that. Try these shoes if you've got a semi-wide foot and you're tired of wearing hunky pieces of rubber.
Comments: I must say. The first couple of matches I played with them were tough. These are the first Yonex shoes I had to break in! I Good shoe overall. I just didn't like the break in period.
Comments: Have to agree with some of the comments posted here. Absolutely one of my favorite shoes of all time, the only (slight) problem is perhaps the durability, and I'm referring to the outsoles. I should emphasize that it isn't bad, but it isn't the greatest either. Not as durable as say, the babolat all courts, but much better in all other areas. Nice and wide toe-box which is a must for me, and a very smooth ride overall. Never had any foot pain or soreness, and I've gone through 3 pairs. Oh and for me, there was ZERO break-in period.
Comments: I do like the Yonex 306, but they wear out very fast. I play three times a week 2-3 hours at a time I'm a 4.0 player. All I can get out of them is about 6 weeks max. Otherwise very little if any break in time, light weight, durable upper. I never wear the upper its always the sole that goes.
Comments: I have to say these shoes are great. I use to use the Nike Breathe Cage II but since they were going to stop making those I got a pair of these. Zero break in time and I mean ZERO, I put them on and they felt like a part of my foot already. Very soft and they feel great.
Comments: I agree with Roy, I think Yonex corrected the too narrow toe box with the latest colors of the 306 (the red, all silver, and clay court with the orange). The earlier 306 in the all blue, and white/red/black were narrower in the toe box than the latest colors. The most recent colors fit like the 305, and that is a good thing!
Comments: I purchased the 306 in red and Ihave to say, I love the shoes. This is about my 5th pair. Unfortunately they only last for a few months at best. But, wore my red shoes for the first time the other day when it was about 105 on the court and I thought my feet were on fire. So if you live in a hot area like me, keep in mind, they do get hotter than a pair of white shoes.
Comments: LOVE THESE SHOES!!
Comments: Wow great shoes. I have a pair of 306 hard court shoes and decided to try the clay court version. Fantastic first step traction. If you play on clay these are a must. Maybe yonex is not main stream like nike or adidas, but these shoes are every bit as good and cheaper. It's a win win for me. Cheers
Comments: OK here is the deal. Purchase the new range of SHT306 shoes, that is the Silver, Red or Clay court with orange on the side. Yonex has changed the toe box and the fit and comfort is far superior than previous models, and I would say this leaves Barricades way behind. Size is the same as previous models just a reconfigure to the forefront of the shoe. Comfort, support, grip and style 9/10
Comments: No doubt, for me these are the best shoes I have ever had. I had never tried Yonex just because in this city in hard to find them, but since I got them I realized that in the future it will worth to make an order by internet.
Comments: Comments: Here's the thing- if you wear a size in the 305, you need to get 1/2 size larger in the 306. I wore 11 in the 305, and had to get 11.5 to get a comparable fit. The 306 fits shorter and narrower than the 305. I still like the 305 better, and would like for Yonex to bring it back, maybe in some new colors!
Comments: Went from losing every match to winning every match. These shoes helped me get to drop shots quicker than I could've imagined- especially when coming from Barricades.
Comments: The 305 is a lot better fitting, more comfortable than the 306. The toe area is much roomier and comfortable, and the mesh in the 305 makes a much cooler, flexible shoe. The 306 is definitely narrower and smaller feeling, and stiff. The 305 is a darn near perfect shoe; the 306 is not! Yonex, PLEASE bring back the 305 in some new colors!!
Comments: Very comfortable. Held up very well. Very light which helps me with aggressive play. After trying many different kinds of shoes these are very good.
Comments: I have been using Yonex shoes since playing competitive tennis in the 12s, now I am 17 a senior in High School still wearing Yonex shoes. They are great for my feet, very comfortable and most of all very affordable. I will be in college next year, I am proud to be a Yonex loyal customer.
Comments: I agree with some other posts that 305 is much better. The two main reasons for me are breathability and break in. The 306 has no mesh in the forefoot as the 305 has. As a result the breathability is horrible and another side effect is that out of the box the 306 feel stiffer. This is unfortunate for me because there are so many things I like about the Yonex shoe. For me the 305 was the best shoe available. The ergofit reminds me of my Birkenstock sandals which are comfy. The arch is just right. The weight is great. I hope Yonex will read this and go back to some of the good things from the 305.
Comments: I'm a Barricade V user right now, so I was wondering if switching to the 306s
would be a good choice. Could anyone get back to me on this? Thanks a bunch.
Comments: The 306 is not a durable shoe. My son wore the sole smooth in only four weeks. He was otherwise happy with it, but for the money it is not a good value.
Comments: To Dean. I am using 305, and I also tried 306. 305 is much more comfortable.
Comments: I have worn out (5) pairs of Yonex 305 court shoes. The 305s were the best tennis shoe I have ever worn. Now I'm wearing the Yonex 306, the new replacement for the 305. Nice shoe but the shoe tongue is too long, ride high up against the shin bone causing discomfort. I had to break-in the new 306 around the house but did not have to break-in the old 305.
Comments: Can someone tell me how similar it is to the 305 model as far as fit and feel are concerned? thanks much.
Comments: Thanks, Ron David, on your comment about Tennis Warehouse's carrying Yonex socks. I was one of the lucky few who ordered the socks straight through the Yonex manufacturing plant in Japan (not San Diego Badmiton company). Only if I knew how hard they were to find, I would have ordered 50 pairs on that one shipment order overseas through the Pacific! Finding Yonex socks are equivalent to the search of finding the Holy Grail!!! Hail Yonex!!!
Comments: I like everything about these shoes, but I wore a hole all the way through the sole in about 10 weeks.
Comments: The lateral support in these shoes is fantastic. They are noticeably lighter and more maneuverable than the Barricade IV, my previous shoes; as well as very stylish. These are my new favorites.
Comments: Yonex products are so grossly underestimated. These shoes are EXCELLENT. I used to wear Prince then Reebok then Adidas... but have found the perfect fit with Yonex! A great bargain and well priced I might add!!!
