Tourna Poly Big Hitter Blue Rough String 17 Customer feedback
Comments: So you think you like Babolat RPM Blast? I did too. Started getting some arm pain and wallet pain and
tried Big Hitter out. Lets just say, I am glad I found this string. Strung up with my Babolat AeroPro Drive GT at 57 lbs its my go-to
string bed. I have done a hybrid with it and I just recently did a full bed and its been amazing. The amount of heavy top spin you
get from it is greater than the amount from RPM Blast. I would say the difference is RPM Blast lets you hit with generous amounts
of top spin while BHBR lets you hit with top spin, but the ball kicks off the ground like you would not believe. I have found my
string of choice and better yet, its 8 dollars
Comments: I have loved these strings for almost 2 years now...just the bite on the ball and the consistency, that I
get on the ball has been amazing I have tried so many different types of strings (Prince, Yonex, Wilson, Babolat) and NONE of
these can compare to this one. Will always buy the reels and string all three of my Yonex RDS 003's with them.
Comments: I love this string. I have it in my Volkls' as both a hybrid with Head RIP Control, and a full bed setup.
Still can't tell which I prefer. Tons of spin and power, but with control and enough comfort to prevent tennis elbow issues (which I
am prone to). Plus the most solid sounding/feeling string I've played with since I don't know. Not too quantifiable, but "solid" is
the best I can come up with right now. I've tried swinging at returns near as hard as I can to see if I can keep them in, and yeah,
with this string, I can. Fun. Tension retention (sorry, had to) seems to be variable (comparing between myself and 1 other local
user), but for me it hasn't been an issue so far. Two Tour 8 V-Engines way up!
Comments: It has a soft feel. I think it is good for the price but found nothing special about it.
Comments: My search is over. This string does it all for me. There is comfort,
control, power and it has good tension maintenance. However, I tried it in a hybrid and didn't love it. So I then strung a full bed
of this string on a whim and couldn't be happier.
Comments: This is a great string when it is first strung. It is soft yet crisp and the power and spin you get from it is
excellent. However, tension fell quickly. I got a week of good play out of them and now they are dead. The durability is not the
best because of the softness, but is still good. Overall, I would give it a 7 out of 10. These strings are good for the price.
Comments: There are many stiff polys out there and some of them are very pricey. I like a softer poly and this fits
the bill beautifully. A softer poly not surprisingly is more elastic and therefore has more life to it. Honestly, I think textured strings
are a bunch of baloney and the studies show it, but for just a few bucks more (the company knows what it is doing) I can hold
onto the superstition. I use this for the mains with multifilament crosses.
Comments: I just bought a Wilson Six.One BLX 95 with the 18x20 string pattern. I was using the Tourna Quasi gut
at 55 pounds, it was OK, but not enough control/spin. So I switched to the BHBR two days ago and have played twice with it,
strung at 55 lbs with Gosen OG Sheep micro 17 as the crosses. The setup feels awesome, there is plenty of power, the spin is SO
much better than the full bed of multi I was using, the ball bite is far better as well. I saw the biggest improvement on my slice, I
hit a 2-handed backhand but often slice the ball, before my new racquet was just horrible for slicing, felt dead and hard to
control, but now the sweet spot feels much better and my slice is back, the racquet just has more feel in general now. First 2 days
playing with this string I am impressed, and will definitely be stringing it again, worth a try for anyone in my opinion.
Comments: After trying tons of different strings, this string is the first one I have felt warrants a review. BHBR 17 is
truly unlike any string I have ever tried. It has the control of a poly / co-poly, yet has comfort rivaling a high-end multi. Great
pocketing, excellent power, and fantastic control. I initially thought I would have to hybrid this with a soft multi cross, but there's
no need. No pain whatsoever with a full set even after heavy hitting. The shape of the string adds an outstanding amount of spin.
Power, feel, control, and spin... all at a great price. Strings are obviously a matter of personal taste, but this is certainly worth a
try.
Comments: I really do like this string. You get tons of spin and control, a generous amount of pop and power. It is
a little on the stiff side, but when I strung it at 55 lbs, it broke in about 5 days. That's why I use the 16g version.
Comments: Very similar to Luxilon Big Banger Rough except Luxilon does not make it in the 17g version. The price
is about half of the Big Banger. Excellent access to spin. This is a very stiff Poly so it works best when you take 2 to 3 pounds off
of what you are used to.
Comments: Using this string as my main with Head sonic pro 17g as the crosses, it has great control, power is less
than I am normally used to, but that just means I can hit it even harder. The spin is amazing! I already put a ton of top spin on the
ball, but now it bounces at head level from the spin. I haven't done many shots with backspin since this is my first day, but I
already know it's a winner. Both strung @ 60#s each on a Head youtek speed elite I'm a 4.0 player.
Comments: Amazing string, nice pop, power and spin with a ton of control. If you like the Luxilon rough you will
love this one. But if you don't like the dead feeling of the Luxilon you won't like this one. It is almost the same string but 2-3
times cheaper.
