Comments: This is a fabulous book featuring greats of the tenns on the eve of WW11, woven into fabric of great great players living in a time foreign to most of us, this is without doubt the most absorbing tennis based novel I have ever read, with the most dominant players of the era, Budge and Von Crammi pitted against each other and their respective countries per the War, with the amazing and tragic Tilden legacy still lurking in the background. This is the second copy of this bought I have bought to read a second time, something I never do. If you are the least bit interested in tennis history, do yourself a favor and read it.
